beta-Mannosidase from the mushroom Polyporus sulfureus.

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1976
beta-D-Mannosidase (EC 3.2.1.25), a useful tool for the structural studies of heterosaccharide chains, has been isolated in a highly purified form from the fruiting bodies of the mushroom Polyporus sulfureus. This mushroom is unique among reported sources of this enzyme in that it has the advantage of being almost free of alpha-mannosidase activity ...

Transcriptome Analysis of Cell Wall and NAC Domain Transcription Factor Genes during Elaeis guineensis Fruit Ripening: Evidence for Widespread Conservation within Monocot and Eudicot Lineages

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2017
The oil palm (Elaeis guineensis), a monocotyledonous species in the family Arecaceae, has an extraordinarily oil rich fleshy mesocarp, and presents an original model to examine the ripening processes and regulation in this particular monocot fruit ...

Overexpression of the class D MADS-box gene Sl-AGL11 impacts fleshy tissue differentiation and structure in tomato fruits [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
MADS-box transcription factors are key elements of the genetic networks controlling flower and fruit development. Among these, the class D clade gathers AGAMOUS-like genes which are involved in seed, ovule, and funiculus development.

Engineering of konjac glucomannan into respirable microparticles for delivery of antitubercular drugs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Few medically-approved excipients are available for formulation strategies to endow microcarriers with improved performance in lung drug targeting. Konjac glucomannan (KGM) is a novel, biocompatible material, comprising mannose units potentially inducing

Characterization of .BETA.-mannosidase of an alkalophilic Bacillus sp.

open access: yesAgricultural and Biological Chemistry, 1988
The cell-associated β-mannosidase of an alkalophilic Bacillus sp. (AM-001) was purified to the electrophoretically homogenous state. The relative molecular mass of the purified enzyme was 94, 000 daltons by SDS-PAGE and the pi was 5.5 by isoelectric focusing. The enzyme was most active at pH 6.0 and 50°C.

Alterations of renal phenotype and gene expression profiles due to protein overload in NOD-related mouse strains

open access: yesBMC Nephrology, 2005
Background Despite multiple causes, Chronic Kidney Disease is commonly associated with proteinuria. A previous study on Non Obese Diabetic mice (NOD), which spontaneously develop type 1 diabetes, described histological and gene expression changes ...

Purification and kinetic properties of guinea pig liver .BETA.-mannosidase.

open access: yesChemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 1985
β-Mannosidase was purified to electrophoretic homogeneity from the 20000g supernatant of guinea pig liver homogenate. A highly purified enzyme preparation was also obtained from the acetone powder. This enzyme had a pH optimum of 4.0 and molecular weights of ca.
