Age-related profile of beta-N-acetylhexosaminidase glycosylation in rat liver.
Beta-N-acetylhexosaminidase was prepared from a liver lysosomal fraction obtained from rats between 18 days of gestation (group I) and 72 weeks of age (groups II-VI). A glycan chain analysis was performed after an electrophoresis and blotting, followed by a very sensitive detection system with highly specific digoxigenin-labelled lectins.

β-N-Acetylhexosaminidases for Carbohydrate Synthesis via Trans-Glycosylation
β-N-acetylhexosaminidases (EC 3.2.1.52) are retaining hydrolases of glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20). These enzymes catalyze hydrolysis of terminal, non-reducing N-acetylhexosamine residues, notably N-acetylglucosamine or N-acetylgalactosamine, in N ...

Metagenomic analysis of anaerobic digesters revealed a dominant, uncultured bacterial taxon—MBA03—now proposed as ‘Candidatus Darwinibacteriales’ ord. nov. This newly defined order includes potential syntrophic acetate‐oxidising bacteria (SAOB), suggesting a key role in methane production.

A series of polycyclic oxazolinium compounds is synthesized from various aryloxazolines with silyl‐substituted alkynes and internal alkynes via dual photoredox/gold catalysis and Rh‐catalyzed C–H bond functionalization, and affords silyl‐substituted polycyclic oxazoliniums and polycyclic oxazoliniums, respectively.

Liberation of N-acetylglucosamine-6-sulfate by human beta-N-acetylhexosaminidase A.
The first step of the degradation of p-nitrophenyl-6-sulfo-2-acetamido-2-deoxy-beta-D-glucopyranoside and of keratan sulfate-derived oligosaccharides bearing N-acetylglucosamine-6-sulfate residues at the nonreducing end was considered to be accomplished by the action of a specific sulfatase (Kresse, H., Paschke, E., von Figura, K., Gilberg, W., and ...

Ex Vivo Gene Therapy Approaches for the Treatment of Globoid Cell Leukodystrophy [PDF]
Globoid cell leukodystrophy (GLD) is a rare lysosomal storage disorder (LSD) due to the deficiency of the lysosomal enzyme Galactocerebrosidase (GALC).

Laxative Effect of Lactobacillus paracasei Glory LP16 on Loperamide‐Induced Constipation in Mice
ABSTRACT Constipation is a common gastrointestinal disease. In recent years, probiotic intervention has often been used to solve such problems. However, the results of existing studies on different intervention times and dose differences are not consistent. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research on specific strains.

Functional Profiles of Phyllosphere and Rhizosphere Metagenomes Differ Across Milkweed Species
We characterised milkweed microbiomes using a metagenomics approach to investigate the functional potential of endophytic phyllosphere and rhizosphere communities. We found evidence that the composition of potential PSM genes varied across milkweeds in spp. specific responses, for both phyllospheres and rhizospheres, and in response to monarch feeding.

Abstract The use of matrix‐assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) mass spectrometry for the analysis of carbohydrates and glycoconjugates is a well‐established technique and this review is the 12th update of the original article published in 1999 and brings coverage of the literature to the end of 2022.
