Minimal polynomials of some beta-numbers and Chebyshev polynomials [PDF]

open access: yesActa Arithmetica, 2007
We consider the β-expansion of 1 which encodes a rational rotation on R/Z under a certain partition. Via transforming its βpolynomial into a linear combination of Chebyshev polynomials, we specify the minimal polynomial of β over the field of rationals.

On-line algorithms for multiplication and division in real and complex numeration systems [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science, 2019
A positional numeration system is given by a base and by a set of digits. The base is a real or complex number $\beta$ such that $|\beta|>1$, and the digit set $A$ is a finite set of digits including $0$. Thus a number can be seen as a finite or infinite

The t-core of an s-core [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We consider the $t$-core of an $s$-core partition, when $s$ and $t$ are coprime positive integers. Olsson has shown that the $t$-core of an $s$-core is again an $s$-core, and we examine certain actions of the affine symmetric group on $s$-cores which ...

Efficient hardware implementation and analysis of true random‐number generator based on beta source

open access: yesETRI Journal, 2020
This paper presents an efficient hardware random‐number generator based on a beta source. The proposed generator counts the values of “0” and “1” and provides a method to distinguish between pseudo‐random and true random numbers by comparing them using ...

Tracking of toddler fruit and vegetable preferences to intake and adiposity later in childhood [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
This study examined whether toddlers' liking for fruit and vegetables (FV) predicts intake of FV later in childhood, how both relate to childhood adiposity and how these were moderated by factors in infancy.

Regular Poles and β-Numbers in the Theory of Holomorphic Semigroups

open access: yesConstructive Approximation, 2013
We introduce the notion of regular (boundary) poles for infinitesimal generators of semigroups of holomorphic self-maps of the unit disc. We characterize such regular poles in terms of $ $-points (i.e. pre-images of values with positive Carleson-Makarov $ $-numbers) of the associated semigroup and of the associated K nigs intertwining function.

THE EFFECT OF SOURSOP LEAF EXTRACT ON PANCREATIC BETA CELL COUNT AND FASTING BLOOD GLUCOSE IN MALE WISTAR RATS EXPOSED TO A HIGH-FAT DIET AND STREPTOZOTOCIN

open access: yesFolia Medica Indonesiana, 2017
Based on some researches known that soursop leaf extract can improve beta cell injury. The aims of this study was to analyze the effect of soursop leaf extract on fasting blood glucose (FBG) and pancreatic beta cell number in male Wistar rats wich were ...

Exendin-4 Promotes Beta Cell Proliferation via PI3k/Akt Signalling Pathway

open access: yesCellular Physiology and Biochemistry, 2015
Background/Aims: Prevention of diabetes requires maintenance of a functional beta-cell mass, the postnatal growth of which depends on beta cell proliferation.

Descent c-Wilf Equivalence [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science, 2017
Let $S_n$ denote the symmetric group. For any $\sigma \in S_n$, we let $\mathrm{des}(\sigma)$ denote the number of descents of $\sigma$, $\mathrm{inv}(\sigma)$ denote the number of inversions of $\sigma$, and $\mathrm{LRmin}(\sigma)$ denote the number of
