Refining the NaV1.7 pharmacophore of a class of venom‐derived peptide inhibitors via a combination of in silico screening and rational engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Venom peptides have shown promise in treating pain. Our study uses computer screening to identify a peptide that targets a sodium channel (NaV1.7) linked to chronic pain. We produced the peptide in the laboratory and refined its design, advancing the search for innovative pain therapies.

The orbit of a $β$-transformation cannot lie in a small interval [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Korean Mathematical Society 49 (2012), no. 4, 867-879
For $\beta>1$, let $T_\beta:[0,1]\rightarrow [0,1)$ be the $\beta$-transformation. We consider an invariant $T_\beta$-orbit closure contained in a closed interval with diameter $1/\beta$, then define a function $\Xi(\alpha,\beta)$ by the supremum of such $T_\beta$-orbit with frequency $\alpha$ in base $\beta$, i.e., the maximum value in the $T_\beta ...

Sistem Persamaan Linear Fuzzy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Let AU = V be fuzzy system of linear equations. The fuzzy system of linear equations consist of n variables and n equations. We rearrange the fuzzy system of linear equations became 2n variables and 2n equations. The new system was devoted by BX* = V*. In

Socially Mediated Publicness in Networked Society for Indonesian Muslim Women [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
: This paper addresses discursive processes that generated ‘jilboobs\u27 term. It tries to ground the notion of socially mediated publicness and its affordances by investigating the process of image making of Indonesian Muslim women.

The power of microRNA regulation—insights into immunity and metabolism

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
MicroRNAs are emerging as crucial regulators at the intersection of metabolism and immunity. This review examines how miRNAs coordinate glucose and lipid metabolism while simultaneously modulating T‐cell development and immune responses. Moreover, it highlights how cutting‐edge artificial intelligence applications can identify miRNA biomarkers ...

Prospective impacts of windstorm risk on carbon sinks and the forestry sector: an integrated assessment with Monte Carlo simulations

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters
Storms pose a significant threat to economic activities in the forest sector and introduce non-permanence risks for carbon stocks. Following escalating climate ambitions, understanding and addressing these risks becomes imperative.

Bromodomain Protein Inhibition Protects β-Cells from Cytokine-Induced Death and Dysfunction via Antagonism of NF-κB Pathway

open access: yesCells
Cytokine-induced β-cell apoptosis is a major pathogenic mechanism in type 1 diabetes (T1D). Despite significant advances in understanding its underlying mechanisms, few drugs have been translated to protect β-cells in T1D.

Theory of open quantum dynamics with hybrid noise

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2018
We develop a theory to describe dynamics of a non-stationary open quantum system interacting with a hybrid environment, which includes high-frequency and low-frequency noise components. One part of the system–bath interaction is treated in a perturbative

Lack of effect of long-term supplementation with beta carotene on the incidence of malignant neoplasms and cardiovascular disease.

open access: yesNew England Journal of Medicine, 1996
BACKGROUND Observational studies suggest that people who consume more fruits and vegetables containing beta carotene have somewhat lower risks of cancer and cardiovascular disease, and earlier basic research suggested plausible mechanisms.
