Product and Quotient of Independent Gauss Hypergeometric Variables

open access: yesIngeniería y Ciencia, 2011
In this article, we have derived the probability density functions of the productand the quotient of two independent random variables having Gauss hypergeometricdistribution.

Modelling Interval Data with Random Intercepts: A Beta Regression Approach for Clustered and Longitudinal Structures

open access: yesModelling
Beta regression models are a class of models used frequently to model response variables in the interval (0, 1). Although there are articles in which these models are used to model clustered and longitudinal data, the prediction of random effects is ...

Beta Marshall–Olkin Lomax Distribution

open access: yesRevstat Statistical Journal, 2019
Compounding distributions is the most common method in lifetime analysis to obtain more flexible families of distributions. Based on the beta Marshall–Olkin generated family, we present a new four-parameter distribution, so-called the beta Marshall–Olkin Lomax, for lifetime applications.

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

A Novel Alternative to the Beta and Kumaraswamy Distributions for Double Bounded Hydroclimatology Data

open access: yesIEEE Access
The beta distribution is considered the most popular for modeling double-bounded data, such as rates and percentages. But when it comes to double-bounded hydrological data, it often does not show an adequate fit to such data.

The Beta Transmuted Weibull Distribution

open access: yesAustrian Journal of Statistics, 2014
The paper introduces a beta transmuted Weibull distribution, which contains a number of distributions as special cases. The properties of the distribution are discussed and explicit expressions are derived for the mean deviations, Bonferroni and Lorenz ...

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.
