Evaluating Trust Management Frameworks for Wireless Sensor Networks

open access: yesSensors
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are crucial in various fields including Health Care Monitoring, Battlefield Surveillance, and Smart Agriculture. However, WSNs are susceptible to malicious attacks due to the massive quantity of sensors within them. Hence,

The beta log-logistic distribution [PDF]

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Probability and Statistics, 2014
A new continuous distribution, so-called the beta log-logistic distribution, that extends the log-logistic distribution and some other distributions is proposed and studied. The new model is quite flexible to analyze positive data. Various structural properties of the new distribution are derived, including explicit expressions for the moments, mean ...

Integrative miRNOMe profiling reveals the miR‐195‐5p–CHEK1 axis and its impact on luminal breast cancer outcomes

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In luminal (ER+) breast carcinoma (BC), miRNA profiling identified miR‐195‐5p as a key regulator of proliferation that targets CHEK1, CDC25A, and CCNE1. High CHEK1 expression correlates with worse relapse‐free survival after chemotherapy, especially in patients with luminal A subtype.

The beta Nadarajah-Haghighi distribution

open access: yesHacettepe Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, 2017
Recently, there has been a great interest among statisticians and applied  researchers in constructing flexible distributions for better modeling non-monotone failure rates. We study a lifetime model of the  beta generated family, called the beta Nadarajah-Haghighi distribution, which can be used to model survival data.

Association of high‐dose radioactive iodine therapy with PPM1D‐mutated clonal hematopoiesis in older individuals

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In thyroid cancer patients, high‐dose (≥7.4 GBq) radioactive iodine therapy (RAIT) was associated with a higher prevalence of clonal hematopoiesis (variant allele frequency >2%) in individuals aged ≥50 years (OR = 2.44). In silico analyses showed that truncating PPM1D mutations conferred a selective advantage under these conditions.

The gamma beta ratio distribution [PDF]

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Probability and Statistics, 2012
The important problem of the ratio of gamma and beta distributed random variables is considered. Six motivating applications (from efficiency modeling, income modeling, clinical trials, hydrology, reliability and modeling of infectious diseases) are discussed.
