Zero of the discrete beta function in SU(3) lattice gauge theory with color sextet fermions [PDF]
We have carried out a Schrodinger functional calculation for the SU(3) lattice gauge theory with two flavors of Wilson fermions in the sextet representation of the gauge group.

Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) accounts for half of the heart failure cases. It is characterised by microvascular dysfunction, associated with reduced pericyte coverage and diminished STAT3 expression in pericytes. Loss of STAT3 impairs pericyte adhesion, promotes senescence, and activates a pro‐fibrotic gene program.

Ion channel function of polycystin‐2/polycystin‐1 heteromer revealed by structure‐guided mutagenesis
Mutations in polycystin‐1 (PC1) or polycystin‐2 (PC2) cause autosomal‐dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD). We generated a novel gain‐of‐function PC2/PC1 heteromeric ion channel by mutating pore‐blocking residues. Moreover, we demonstrated that PC2 will preferentially assemble with PC1 to form heteromeric complexes when PC1 is co‐expressed ...

Self-Matching Properties of Beatty Sequences [PDF]
We study the selfmatching properties of Beatty sequences, in particular of the graph of the function $\lfloor j\beta\rfloor $ against $j$ for every quadratic unit $\beta\in(0,1)$.

In this paper, we introduce a relatively new class, $\mathcal{\mathcal{B}}_{1}^\beta(\alpha)$, namely the class of Beta-Bazilevi\v{c} function is generated by the function Bazilevi\v{c} $\mathcal{B}_{1}(\alpha)$.

Decoding the dual role of autophagy in cancer through transcriptional and epigenetic regulation
Transcriptional and epigenetic regulation controls autophagy, which exerts context‐dependent effects on cancer: Autophagy suppresses tumorigenesis by maintaining cellular homeostasis or promotes tumor progression by supporting survival under stress. In this “In a Nutshell” article, we explore the intricate mechanisms of the dual function of autophagy ...

Autophagy in cancer and protein conformational disorders
Autophagy plays a crucial role in numerous biological processes, including protein and organelle quality control, development, immunity, and metabolism. Hence, dysregulation or mutations in autophagy‐related genes have been implicated in a wide range of human diseases.

Parameter estimation for integer-valued Gibbs distributions
We consider Gibbs distributions, which are families of probability distributions over a discrete space $\Omega$ with probability mass function given by $\mu^\Omega_\beta(x) = \frac{e^{\beta H(x)}}{Z(\beta)}$.
