Effect of 2-H and 18-O water isotopes in kinesin-1 gliding assay [PDF]
We show here the effects of heavy-hydrogen water (^2^H~2~O) and heavy-oxygen water (H~2~^18^O) on the gliding speed of microtubules on kinesin-1 coated surfaces.

Biguanide-, imine-, and guanidine-based networks as catalysts for transesterification of vegetable oil [PDF]
Polycationic systems based on poly(hexamethylene biguanide) (PHMBG), branched polyethyleneimine (PEI) and poly(N-vinylguanidine) (PVG) have been evaluated as heterogeneous catalysts for the transesterification of sunflower oil by methanol.

Loss of Kv8.2 in the Mouse Retina Is Associated With Altered One‐Carbon Metabolism
Kv8.2 knockout mice, a model of KCNV2 retinopathy, exhibit impaired potassium homeostasis in photoreceptors and slowly progressive rod degeneration. To investigate metabolic adaptations accompanying this dysfunction, untargeted metabolomic profiling was performed on mouse retinas.

Chthoniobacter flavus gen. nov., sp nov., the first pure-culture representative of subdivision two, Spartobacteria classis nov., of the phylum Verrucomicrobia [PDF]
The phylum Verrucomicrobia is increasingly recognized as an environmentally significant group of bacteria, particularly in soil habitats. At least six subdivisions of the Verrucomicrobia are resolved by comparative analysis of 16S rRNA genes, mostly ...

Investigating the antiparasitic potential of the marine sesquiterpene avarone, its reduced form avarol, and the novel semisynthetic thiazinoquinone analogue thiazoavarone [PDF]
The chemical analysis of the sponge Dysidea avara afforded the known sesquiterpene quinone avarone, along with its reduced form avarol. To further explore the role of the thiazinoquinone scaffold as an antiplasmodial, antileishmanial and antischistosomal

ABSTRACT Melon (Cucumis melo L.) is a globally significant crop, yet its productivity is increasingly threatened by rising soil salinity in many cultivation areas. In this context, plant growth‐promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) have emerged as a promising strategy to enhance plant growth and improve tolerance to salinity stress.

Ultralight 3D nanofibrous aerogels embedded with metal‐organic frameworks effectively capture and neutralize toxic gases and organophosphonates. Incorporating mesoporous UiO‐66‐NH2 and HKUST‐1 into PAN/PVP fibers enables high MOF loading while maintaining mechanical strength and structural stability.
