Identification of liver protein targets modified by tienilic acid metabolites using a two-dimensional Western blot-mass spectrometry approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
International audienceA combined approach based on two-dimensional electrophoresis-immuno-blotting and nanoliquid chromatography coupled on-line with electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (nLC-MS/MS) was used to identify proteins modified by a ...

Larvicidal Activity of Naringenin: Betaine Cocrystals Against Aedes Aegypti

open access: yesCrystal Research and Technology, Volume 61, Issue 2, February 2026.
This study demonstrates that naringenin: betaine cocrystals significantly enhance larvicidal activity against Aedes aegypti compared to physical mixtures or pure compounds. Improved dissolution properties contributed to higher mortality rates, supporting the use of cocrystallization as a promising green technology for vector management.

Synthesis of Amphiphilic Three-Armed Star Random Copolymers via Living Radical Polymerization and their Unimolecular Folding Properties in Water [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Amphiphilic three-armed star random copolymers were synthesized by ruthenium-catalyzed living radical copolymerization of hydrophilic poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether methacrylate (PEGMA) and hydrophobic dodecyl methacrylate (DMA).

Toward a Green Polymerization of Lignin‐Derived Monomers in Ethyl Lactate Solution or Aqueous Emulsion

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, Volume 311, Issue 2, February 2026.
Starting from lignin‐derived compounds (LDCs), a library of radically polymerizable monomers are synthesized. Biobased polymers are then prepared by free radical polymerization using industrially relevant processes: in solution (ethyl lactate) and in emulsion (water). Polymers with high thermal resistance and tunable Tgs are obtained, along with stable

A case of using specialized medical nutrition product containing anhydrous betaine in patient with homocystinuria

open access: yesClinical nutrition and metabolism
BACKGROUND: Although homocystinuria is a rare disorder, its management remains an important issue in modern pediatrics. Diet therapy is the main pathogenetic treatment for patients with homocystinuria. The use of betaine as part of combination therapy helps reduce plasma homocysteine concentrations, particularly in patients who do not respond to other ...

Charakterisierung der molekularen Determinanten zur hochaffinen Bindung der kompatiblen Soluten Glycin Betain, Prolin Betain, Ectoin und Hydroxyectoin durch Substratbindeproteine von bakteriellen ABC-Transportern [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Die Akkumulation von kompatiblen Soluten ist ein weit verbreiteter Schutzmechanismus gegen variierende Umweltbedingungen und wird in vielen Spezies der Bacteria und Archaea verwendet.

A Multifunctional Molecular Probe for Multimodal Imaging‐Guided Potent Photothermal/Photodynamic Therapy of Endometriosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 43, November 20, 2025.
The cRGD‐ILD molecular probe integrates clinically available components: a cRGD peptide (integrin αvβ3 targeting), ICG (for fluorescence/photoacoustic imaging and phototherapy), and Gd‐DTPA (MRI contrast). Utilizing small size and receptor targeting, it achieves selective lesion accumulation.

Effect of 2H and 18O water isotopes in kinesin-1 gliding assay [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We show for the first time the effects of heavy-hydrogen water (2H2O) and heavy-oxygen water (H218O) on the gliding speed of microtubules on kinesin-1 coated surfaces.

An Injectable Zwitterionic Hydrogels with Multiple Intermolecular Interactions for Effective Prevention of Abdominal Adhesions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 42, November 13, 2025.
An injectable PSA‐ZnO through multiple intermolecular including hydrogen bonds and electrostatic interactions for effectively prevents abdominal adhesions. The PSA‐ZnO hydrogel demonstrates superior wound healing promotion (≥ 95%) and more effective inhibition of scar formation compared to the commercial 3M dressing (≈80%), and prevents post‐operative ...

Fuelling Unspecific Peroxygenases with In‐Situ Generated H2O2 Using Enzyme Fusions

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 17, Issue 22, November 24, 2025.
Enzyme fusion constructs comprised of formate dehydrogenase and azoreductase can produce hydrogen peroxide especially in the presence of FMN. These enzyme fusions are utilized for in situ hydrogen peroxide production and are coupled to an unspecific peroxygenase for a slower peroxide delivery.
