Do Voluntary and Mandatory Clean Truck Programs Improve Air Quality Around Ports?

open access: yesJournal of Business Logistics, Volume 47, Issue 4, October 2026.
ABSTRACT States and port authorities have implemented “Clean Truck” programs (CTPs) to encourage trucking companies to transition to newer, cleaner trucks to reduce the emissions around ports. We examine the comparative effectiveness of mandatory and voluntary CTPs implemented across major United States ports.

Availability of Cancer Screening Across HIV Treatment Sites in the IeDEA Consortium

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 159, Issue 6, Page 1477-1489, 15 September 2026.
In recent years, incorporating comprehensive cancer screening strategies into routine HIV care has gained growing attention. This survey of 220 sites providing HIV care across 41 countries shows that cervical cancer screening has increased in availability over time.

Dosimetric and radiobiological evaluations as well as technical aspects of left breast treatment employing DIBH with SGRT in radiotherapy with IMRT step and shoot, IMRT Dynamic MLC and VMAT

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 27, Issue 9, September 2026.
Abstract Background Treatment of the left breast using deep inspiration breath hold (DIBH), combined with surface guided radiotherapy (SGRT), has emerged as the standard for reducing the dose to the heart, the left anterior descending coronary artery (LAD), and the ipsilateral lung.

Dynamic modulated arc therapy (DMAT): A time‐aware, modulation‐steered optimization framework for next‐generation radiotherapy delivery

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 27, Issue 9, September 2026.
Abstract Background Conventional VMAT optimization largely treats delivery time and deliverability as emergent properties of simplified, control‐point‐centric models that often ignore finite acceleration and other dynamic limits. As modern linacs continue to increase maximum axis speeds and dose rates, there is a growing need for a planning paradigm ...

Beam geometry optimization and convergence mode evaluation for knowledge‐based planning of hippocampal avoidance whole‐brain radiotherapy: A cross‐platform study with quantitative scorecard assessment

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 27, Issue 9, September 2026.
Abstract Background Hippocampal avoidance whole‐brain radiotherapy (HA‐WBRT) is used to treat brain metastases while preserving cognitive function by sparing the hippocampi. Volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) is commonly used due to its ability to generate conformal dose distributions.

STSyn-BEV: BEV segmentation from surround-view fisheye cameras via spatio-temporal synchronization

open access: yesJournal of King Saud University: Computer and Information Sciences
Bird’s-Eye-View (BEV) semantic segmentation is critical for environmental perception in autonomous driving. Surround-view fisheye camera systems are increasingly adopted to enlarge the perception range and eliminate blind spots. However, severe geometric

Metabolic Syndrome: From Mechanisms to Therapeutic Interventions

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 9, September 2026.
A comprehensive overview of molecular mechanisms delves into the potential disease mechanisms of metabolic syndrome, including complex mechanisms such as insulin resistance, chronic low‐grade inflammation, oxidative stress, and epigenetic modifications, and how these mechanisms contribute to the development of metabolic syndrome. Here, the relationship

Optimizing anatomic site selection for needle decompression and chest tube placement for pneumothorax in pregnancy

open access: yesPregnancy, Volume 2, Issue 5, September 2026.
Abstract Introduction Tension pneumothorax can cause life‐threatening respiratory and cardiac complications. Prompt decompression is essential, with current guidelines favoring the fourth or fifth intercostal space (ICS) at the anterior axillary line (AAL) over the traditional second ICS at the midclavicular line (MCL).

Evaluation of dosimetric impact and plan robustness of MLC motion and setup errors in SRS for multiple brain metastases

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 27, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract Background HyperArc is an effective technique for treating multiple small brain metastases using high‐definition, precise radiation. However, the small size of individual lesions makes treatment vulnerable to inherent inaccuracies from beam‐limiting devices such as multi‐leaf collimators (MLCs), as well as patient setup errors.
