Investigation of sedimentary rocks and grains in the round: Micron‐scale SEM‐BEX 360° and 3D imaging

open access: yesJournal of Microscopy
The aim of the current paper is to demonstrate the use of a novel prototype horizontal rotation stage, within a scanning electron microscope (SEM).

SMAA‐Based FITradeoff: An Efficient Framework for Pairwise Elicitation in Multicriteria Decision Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis, Volume 33, Issue 2, August 2026.
ABSTRACT The Flexible and Interactive Tradeoff Elicitation (FITradeoff) method is a Multi‐Attribute Decision‐Making (MADM) approach designed to capture the preferences of a Decision Maker (DM) while minimising cognitive effort. To reduce the frequency of interactions and optimise the preference elicitation process, this paper introduces an innovative ...

Theory of magnetoelectric resonance in two-dimensional $S=3/2$ antiferromagnet ${\rm Ba_2CoGe_2O_7}$ via spin-dependent metal-ligand hybridization mechanism

open access: yes, 2011
We investigate magnetic excitations in an $S=3/2$ Heisenberg model representing two-dimensional antiferromagnet ${\rm Ba_2CoGe_2O_7}$. In terahertz absorption experiment of the compound, Goldstone mode as well as novel magnetic excitations, conventional ...

Correlation between the transition temperature and the superfluid density in BCS superconductor NbB_2+x [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The results of the muon-spin rotation experiments on BCS superconductors NbB_2+x (x = 0.2, 0.34) are reported. Both samples, studied in the present work, exhibit rather broad transitions to the superconducting state, suggesting a distribution of the ...

Spectroscopic properties of the molecular ions BeX+ (X=Na, K, Rb): forming cold molecular ions from an ion–atom mixture by stimulated Raman adiabatic process [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In this theoretical work, we calculate potential energy curves, spectroscopic parameters and transition dipole moments of molecular ions BeX+ (X=Na, K, Rb) composed of alkaline ion Be and alkali atom X with a quantum chemistry approach based on the ...

Domain associated with zinc fingers‐containing NF90‐NF45 complex inhibits m6A modification of primary microRNA by suppressing METTL3/14 activity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, Volume 16, Issue 5, Page 921-931, May 2026.
NF90–NF45 functions as a negative regulator of methyltransferase‐like 3/14 (METTL3/14)‐mediated N6‐methyladenosine (m6A) modification on primary microRNAs (pri‐miRNAs). NF90–NF45 binds to anti‐oncogenic pri‐miRNAs and inhibits their m6A modification, thereby suppressing the biogenesis of anti‐oncogenic miRNAs.

On the superconducting nature of the Bi-II phase of elemental Bismuth

open access: yes, 2019
The superconductivity in the Bi-II phase of elemental Bismuth (transition temperature $T_{\rm c}\simeq3.92$ K at pressure $p\simeq 2.80$ GPa) was studied experimentally by means of the muon-spin rotation as well as theoretically by using the Eliashberg ...

BIEN: A biodiversity informatics ecosystem advancing open and reproducible workflows for plant observation, plot and trait data

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, Volume 17, Issue 5, Page 1556-1584, May 2026.
Abstract The rapid expansion of biodiversity data presents new opportunities to understand and forecast biosphere dynamics. However, disparate and dispersed data, taxonomic and geographic inconsistencies, pervasive quality issues, and a lack of reproducable workflows hinder synthesis, introduce biases and limit accurate assessment of biodiversity ...

Radiation and energy release in a background field of axion-like dark matter

open access: yes, 2017
We find that a fuzzy dark matter background and the mG scale magnetic field in the galactic center can give rise to a radiation with a very large energy release.

Fetuin‐b Mediates Lipid Overload‐Induced Hepatic Lipid Accumulation in Large Yellow Croaker (Larimichthys crocea)

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 8, 30 April 2026.
Schematic of the mechanism of fetuin‐b mediated high‐fat diet‐induced hepatic steatosis in Larimichthys crocea. Lipid overload triggers C/EBPα‐mediated fetuin‐b upregulation. Fetuin‐b drives hepatic lipid accumulation by reprogramming lipid metabolism and inhibiting Plin2 ubiquitination to stabilize lipid droplets, identifying it as a potential ...
