A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Saxion cosmology for thermalized gravitino dark matter

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
In all supersymmetric theories, gravitinos, with mass suppressed by the Planck scale, are an obvious candidate for dark matter; but if gravitinos ever reached thermal equilibrium, such dark matter is apparently either too abundant or too hot, and is ...

Almost-Commutative Geometries Beyond the Standard Model

open access: yes, 2005
In [7-9] and [10] the conjecture is presented that almost-commutative geometries, with respect to sensible physical constraints, allow only the standard model of particle physics and electro-strong models as Yang-Mills-Higgs theories. In this publication

Masses Beyond the Standard Model

open access: yes, 1997
If we are to understand the pattern of fermion masses and mixing angles it is necessary to go beyond the Standard Model. One obvious possibility is that there is further structure, Grand Unification, strings etc., at a high scale which determines the Yukawa couplings responsible for the masses.

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Beyond Standard Model Higgs

open access: yes, 2014
Recent LHC highlights of searches for Higgs bosons beyond the Standard Model are presented. The results by the ATLAS and CMS collaborations are based on 2011 and 2012 proton-proton collision data at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, respectively ...

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Higgs: Standard Model and Beyond

open access: yes, 2002
In this talk, I will discuss possible new physics effects that modify the interaction of Higgs boson(s) with top and bottom quarks, and discuss how to detect such effects in current and future high energy colliders.Comment: LaTeX, 8 pages including 1 ...

Beyond the Standard Model at HERA

open access: yes, 2007
The prospects of physics beyond the standard model in deep inelastic scattering are reviewed, emphasizing the search for contact interactions, for leptoquarks and for supersymmetry with R-parity violation. R-parity violating supersymmetry is explored as a speculative source of events with high energy muons and missing transverse momentum, but no ...
