Natural Antioxidants as Thermal Stabilizers in Post‐Consumer Polypropylene

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
A synergistic antioxidant system combining two natural antioxidants, quercetin and tocopherol, enhances the thermo‐oxidative stability of recycled polypropylene. The approach addresses key barriers to the utilization of recycled polymers, offering a sustainable pathway to improve material performance and supporting the broader adoption of recycled ...

Quantum parallelism as a tool for ensemble spin dynamics calculations

open access: yes, 2008
Efficient simulations of quantum evolutions of spin-1/2 systems are relevant for ensemble quantum computation as well as in typical NMR experiments.

Metabolomic investigation of cisplatin‐induced acute kidney injury in paediatric cancer patients

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Aim Cisplatin causes acute kidney injury (AKI) in approximately 46% of paediatric cancer patients who receive it. Serum creatinine (SCr) is a poor biomarker of cisplatin nephrotoxicity, because there is a delay between cisplatin infusion and SCr elevation.

Tissue distribution, accumulation, and biotransformation of butylated hydroxytoluene in adult zebrafish (Danio rerio)

open access: yesEnvironmental Chemistry and Ecotoxicology
As a widely used synthetic phenolic antioxidant (SPA), butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) has been frequently detected in aquatic ecosystem. In organisms, BHT undergoes species-dependent biotransformation which can influence its toxicity. Despite data on its

Hydrodynamics beyond local equilibrium: application to electron gas

open access: yes, 2000
Generalized hydrodynamic theory, which does not rest on the requirement of a local equilibrium, is derived in the long-wave limit of a kinetic equation.

Elucidating the Interplay Between Structure and Electrochemical Behavior in Lignin‐Based Polymer Electrolytes for Potassium Batteries

open access: yesBattery Energy, Volume 4, Issue 2, March 2025.
Three biobased membranes are synthesized by crosslinking oxidized Kraft lignin with poly(ethylene glycol) diglycidyl ether of increasing molecular weights. After incorporation of solvated potassium salts, potassium batteries including these biobased gel polymer electrolytes are able to deliver a maximum specific capacity at 0.05 A g−1 as high as 130 ...

Photolytic Hydrophosphination: Insights Into Catalyzed and Uncatalyzed Processes

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Catalyst‐free photolytic hydrophosphination is demonstrated for vinyl arenes and activated alkenes in polar protic (alcohol) solvents. These reactions appear to be closed‐shell, affirming that even ambient light can impact a reaction—a potentially broad influence on even mundane reactions.

Nickel‐Catalyzed Three‐Component Coupling Reactions of Iodobenzenes, an Isocyanide, and a Disilathiane: Access to Cyclic Thioimidates and Secondary Thioamides

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
The one‐pot synthesis of 3‐benzylidenbenzo[c]thiophen‐1‐amines was achieved through the nickel‐catalyzed three‐component coupling reaction of 1‐ethynyl‐2‐iodobenzenes, tert‐butyl isocyanide, and hexamethyldisilathiane. This procedure is applicable to the preparation of secondary thioamides using aryl iodides.

Modelling of butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) transport in water in PE-HD pipe including chemical reaction of BHT oxidation

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2018
This paper presents laboratory and modelling studies of antioxidant butylated hydroxytoluene leaching from a water supply PE-HD pipe for laminar and turbulent flow. The reaction of BHT oxidation to BHT-OH was included in our calculations.
