Quantitative identification of and exposure to synthetic phenolic antioxidants, including butylated hydroxytoluene, in urine

open access: yesEnvironment International, 2019
Synthetic phenolic antioxidants (SPAs) such as 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxytoluene (butylated hydroxytoluene, BHT), are used in a wide variety of consumer products, including certain foodstuffs (e.g. fats and oils) and cosmetics.

Stabilization of PUFA‐Rich Mayonnaise Against Lipid Oxidation: A Review of the Last Three Decades of Research

open access: yesJournal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mayonnaise, a widely consumed oil‐in‐water emulsion, is highly susceptible to lipid oxidation due to its high content of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) and the presence of pro‐oxidant factors such as low pH and iron from egg yolk. Over the past three decades, extensive research has focused on understanding oxidation mechanisms, analytical

Evaluation of antioxidant activity of watermelon peels (Citrullus lanatusL) and their application in cake making

open access: yesJournal of Agriculture, Food and Environment
Watermelon peels (WP) were treated by ethanol 70% (v/v) to extract flavonoids and phenolic acids then were identified by paper chromatographic technique.

Effect of pretreatment with butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) on binding of 14C-BHT to lung microsomes.

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacobio-Dynamics, 1980
The effect of pretreatment with BHT on the binding of 14C-BHT to lung microsomes was examined in vitro. The amount of radioactivity bound to microsomal macromolecules significantly decreased by pretreatment of rats with BHT. This decrease was accompanied by a decrement in the content of cytochrome P-450 and in BHT oxidase activity.

Butilhidroxitoluol (BHT) meghatározása keveréktakarmányokban fotometriás eljárással [PDF]

open access: yes, 1976

Clozapine and its bioactive structural derivatives inhibit the BHT. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The indicated molecules were tested in the BHT morphological assay in Spider media for 6 h at 37°C. Below each molecule name is their IC90 value (i.e., lowest concentration of molecule used at which >90% budded cells were observed), which was determined ...

Metabolomic investigation of cisplatin‐induced acute kidney injury in paediatric cancer patients

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Aim Cisplatin causes acute kidney injury (AKI) in approximately 46% of paediatric cancer patients who receive it. Serum creatinine (SCr) is a poor biomarker of cisplatin nephrotoxicity, because there is a delay between cisplatin infusion and SCr elevation.

Elucidating the Interplay Between Structure and Electrochemical Behavior in Lignin‐Based Polymer Electrolytes for Potassium Batteries

open access: yesBattery Energy, Volume 4, Issue 2, March 2025.
Three biobased membranes are synthesized by crosslinking oxidized Kraft lignin with poly(ethylene glycol) diglycidyl ether of increasing molecular weights. After incorporation of solvated potassium salts, potassium batteries including these biobased gel polymer electrolytes are able to deliver a maximum specific capacity at 0.05 A g−1 as high as 130 ...
