Self-intercalation in Bi2Te3〈Cu〉

We have studied the electronic properties of Bi2Te3〈Cu〉 crystals. The results indicate that, during natural growth and subsequent self-intercalation, copper layers are formed between Te(I)-Te(I) layers in the basal plane (0001). On cleaved (0001) surfaces, quasi-two-dimensional layers with islands were found.

Thermoelectrical properties of Bi2Te3 nanocomposites

Abstract Bi2Te3/graphite nanocomposite samples were prepared by mixing different weight percentage of graphite (x=0.0, 0.5 and 1.0) with Bi2Te3 and then subsequently ball milled. XRD results indicate the solid state insolubility of graphite phases in Bi2Te3 as no shift was observed in the peaks corresponding to Bi2Te3 in the composite samples.

Thermoelectric properties of Co4Sb12 with Bi2Te3 nanoinclusions.

The figure of merit (zT) of a thermoelectric material can be enhanced by incorporation of nanoinclusions into bulk material. The presence of bismuth telluride (Bi2Te3) nanoinclusions in Co4Sb12 leads to lower phonon thermal conductivity by introducing interfaces and defects; it enhances the average zT between 300-700 K.

Physical Properties of Bi2Te3 Nanolayers

The properties of very thin Bi2Te3 (nano-) layers of different thickness prepared by pulsed laser deposition at different fluences are presented. Thermoelectric properties such as the thermal conductivity, the in-plain electrical conductivity, the Seebeck coefficient and also crystallinity, composition and morphology are presented.

Properties of Bi2Te3-Bi2Se3 Alloys

Lattice parameters and distribution coefficients for the Bi2Te3-Bi2Se3 pseudobinary alloy system have been determined for several compositions across the phase diagram. The c lattice constant (based on a hexagonal lattice) shows deviation from Vegard's law between 33% Bi2Se3 and pure Bi2Se3 with maximum deviation at 67% Bi2Se3.

Методами физико-химического анализа изучено фазообразование в тройной системе Pr-Bi-Te. Построена диаграмма состояния разреза системы: Bi2Te3-Pr2Te3,. В системе обнаружена новое тройное фазы с составом PrBiTe3 и области твердого раствора ~3-5 мол% при 300К.
