Biflavonoids from Daphne linearifolia Hart.

Phytochemistry Letters, 2012
Abstract Two new biflavonoids, 2″-hydroxygenkwanol A ( 1 ) and 4′-methylgenkwanol A ( 2 ), together with fourteen known compounds were isolated from the aerial parts of Daphne linearifolia Hart. Their chemical structures were elucidated by extensive NMR spectral studies, as well as by ESI-MS analysis.

Diastereoisomeric biflavonoids and a cleaved biflavonoid from Ochna rhizomatosa

Planta Medica
Biflavonoids are structurally diverse secondary metabolites with biological activity of high relevance, such as anticancer, antibacterial, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, among others [1] [2]. In this study, we report the isolation of two diastereoisomeric biflavonoids (Fig.

Tetraflavonoid and biflavonoids from Aristolochia ridicula

Phytochemistry, 2008
Biflavones, a chalcone-flavone, and a tetraflavonoid with a new carbon skeleton were isolated from the leaves of Aristolochia ridicula. Their structures were determined by chemical derivatizations and spectrometric analyses.

Neuroprotective effects of naturally occurring biflavonoids

Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2005
We examined neuroprotective effects of naturally occurring biflavonoids on oxidative stress-induced and amyloid beta peptide-induced cell death in neuronal cells. Among the nine biflavonoids tested, amentoflavone, ginkgetin, and isoginkgetin exhibited strong neuroprotection against cytotoxic insults induced by oxidative stress and amyloid beta ...

A new biflavonoid fromOchna Beddomei

Journal of Asian Natural Products Research, 2003
A new biflavonoid, 2,3-dihydroochnaflavone 7,4',7"-tri-O-methyl ether (1) together with two known biflavonoids namely, 2,3-dihydroochnaflavone (2) and ochnaflavone (3) were isolated from the stem bark of Ochna beddomei. The structures were determined by means of spectral and chemical studies.

Crystal structure of 2,4′-biflavonoid

Journal of Chemical Crystallography, 1997
The X-ray crystal structure of 2,4′-biflavonoid has been determined. Colorless regular prism shaped crystals of C30H22O4 crystallize in the space group $$P\bar 1$$ with cell dimensionsa=11.574(1) A,b=12.235(1) A,c=17.428(1) A, α=108.46(3)o, β=80.08(1)o, γ=103 ...

Biflavonoid constituents of Campylospermum mannii

Biochemical Systematics and Ecology, 2009
Abstract Air dried leaves and stem bark of Campylospermum mannii used in the south of Cameroon by the Baka pigmies to remedy heart and stomach disorders have been examined for their photochemical content. Three biflavonoid, amentoflavone, robustaflavone and chamaejasmin were characterized alongside with two new biflavonoids, campylospermones A and ...

Biflavonoids and Proanthocyanidins

1989
The biflavonoids and proanthocyanidins constitute the two major classes of oligomeric flavonoids found in plants (126, 136). The biflavonoids are oxidative coupling products leading to biflavones, flavanone-flavones, and biflavanones. These compounds always carry carbonyl functions at the C-4 positions (126).

Biflavonoids from Ochna lanceolata

Phytochemistry Letters, 2008
Abstract Two new biflavonoids, 7,4′,7″,4‴-tetramethylisochamaejasmin ( 1 ) and 2,3-dihydroochnaflavone 7″- O - methyl ether ( 2 ), together with six known flavonoids ( 3 – 8 ) were isolated from the stem bark of Ochna lanceolata . Their structures were established on the basis of spectral studies.
