The bilateral symmetry of the vertebrate body
Journal of Social and Biological Systems, 1980Abstract The theory of the gene cannot explain differentiation. The theory of the body-pattern (based on the experimental production of Siamese twins) suggests that body structure arises from a flat organelle—the body-pattern. Fragmentation of this organelle releases particles that lead to differentiation.
