Electrons in bilayer graphene. [PDF]
Electrons in bilayer graphene possess an unusual property: they are chiral quasiparticles characterized by Berry phase 2pi. We review the tight-binding model of bilayer graphene which determines the band structure and low-energy quasiparticle properties ...

The low energy electronic band structure of bilayer graphene. [PDF]
We employ the tight binding model to describe the electronic band structure of bilayer graphene and we explain how the optical absorption coefficient of a bilayer is influenced by the presence and dispersion of the electronic bands, in contrast to the ...

Unconventional quantum Hall effect and Berry’s phase 2pi in bilayer graphene. [PDF]
There are known two distinct types of the integer quantum Hall effect. One is the conventional quantum Hall effect, characteristic of two-dimensional semiconductor systems, and the other is its relativistic counterpart recently observed in graphene ...

Homogeneity of bilayer graphene [PDF]
We present non-linear transport measurements on suspended, current annealed bilayer graphene devices. Using a multi-terminal geometry we demonstrate that devices tend to be inhomogeneous and host two different electronic phases next to each other. Both of these phases show gap-like features of different magnitude in non-linear transport at low charge ...

In-situ twistable bilayer graphene [PDF]
AbstractThe electrical and optical properties of twisted bilayer graphene (tBLG) depend sensitively on the twist angle. To study the angle dependent properties of the tBLG, currently it is required fabrication of a large number of samples with systematically varied twist angles.

Cyclotron Resonance in Bilayer Graphene [PDF]
We present the first measurements of cyclotron resonance of electrons and holes in bilayer graphene. In magnetic fields up to B = 18 T we observe four distinct intraband transitions in both the conduction and valence bands. The transition energies are roughly linear in B between the lowest Landau levels, whereas they follow \sqrt{B} for the higher ...

Weak Localization in Bilayer Graphene [PDF]
We have performed the first experimental investigation of quantum interference corrections to the conductivity of a bilayer graphene structure. A negative magnetoresistance - a signature of weak localisation - is observed at different carrier densities, including the electro-neutrality region.

Electronic Compressibility of a Graphene Bilayer [PDF]
We calculate the electronic compressibility arising from electron-electron interactions for a graphene bilayer within the Hartree-Fock approximation. We show that, due to the chiral nature of the particles in this system, the compressibility is rather different from those of either the two-dimensional electron gas or ordinary semiconductors.

FORMATION OF A NOVEL DIAMOND-LIKE BILAYER BASED ON 5-7 GRAPHENE
First-principle calculations of the structure and properties of orthorhombic L5-7 graphene and a novel diamond-like bilayer formed on its basis are performed.
