Chinese Registry on Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunts (CN‐TIPS): Protocol for a Registry‐Based, Prospective Prognostic Study

open access: yesPortal Hypertension &Cirrhosis, Volume 5, Issue 2, Page 160-169, June 2026.
CN‐TIPS is a nationwide, multicenter prospective registry that will enroll 10,000 adults with portal hypertension undergoing transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt in China, integrating perioperative clinical and hemodynamic metrics with standardized imaging (including computational modeling in a dedicated subcohort) and multi‐omics biospecimens,

Uric Acid in Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease

open access: yesPortal Hypertension &Cirrhosis, Volume 5, Issue 2, Page 189-206, June 2026.
MASLD is the most prevalent chronic liver disease worldwide, yet effective pharmacological treatments remain limited. Hyperuricemia is now recognized as a key driver of hepatic steatosis, inflammation, and fibrosis, with elevated serum uric acid levels independently predicting hepatocellular carcinoma and liver‐related mortality.

Comparable Diagnostic Accuracy but Discordant Thresholds Between FibroTouch and FibroScan: A Biopsy‐Based Comparative Study

open access: yesPortal Hypertension &Cirrhosis, Volume 5, Issue 2, Page 129-139, June 2026.
In this biopsy‐controlled study, FibroTouch and FibroScan demonstrated comparable diagnostic accuracy for liver fibrosis staging (AUROCs > 0.900), but FibroTouch required consistently higher stiffness thresholds. These discrepancies were more pronounced in patients with MAFLD, highlighting the need for device‐specific cutoffs to avoid misclassification.

Predictive Immunohistochemistry in Cholangiocarcinoma: Current Clinical Utility, Practical Limitations, and Emerging Directions

open access: yesAPMIS, Volume 134, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) remains a difficult‐to‐treat biliary malignancy in which therapeutic stratification increasingly depends on predictive biomarkers. Although next‐generation sequencing is essential for the detection of targetable genomic alterations, immunohistochemistry (IHC) retains a practical role because it is widely available ...
