Multi‐omics biomarkers for intestinal infection and inflammation in inflammatory bowel disease: Current evidence, translational challenges, and diagnostic opportunities

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
Prospective multi‐site cohorts, multi‐omics profiling, and computational analysis may help identify biomarker patterns across clinical settings in IBD and superimposed infections. With further mechanistic and clinical validation, these signals could support the development of practical multi‐analyte tools for more precise diagnosis and management ...

Beyond Tradition: An Integrated Toxicological, Ecological, and Public Health Perspective on Aristolochic Acids

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aristolochia species have long been used in traditional medicine for their presumed anti‐inflammatory, analgesic and antimicrobial properties. However, extensive toxicological and epidemiological evidence now demonstrates that these plants contain aristolochic acids (AAs) I and II, highly potent nephrotoxic, genotoxic, and carcinogenic ...

Serum Apelin‐13 and Galectin‐3 in COVID‐19: Associations With Routine Biochemical Parameters and Diagnostic Performance in a Case–Control Study

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.
Serum Apelin‐13 and Galectin‐3 levels were measured by ELISA in COVID‐19–positive patients and controls and evaluated alongside routine biochemical parameters. COVID‐19 patients showed significant alterations in liver, renal, inflammatory, and metabolic markers.

Incidence and Determinants of Steatotic Liver Disease after Pancreaticoduodenectomy: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Steatotic liver disease (SLD) is an unrecognized complication after pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) and may affect nutrition and long‐term recovery. This meta‐analysis estimated the incidence of SLD after PD and identified its clinical and surgical risk factors.

Feasibility of Comprehensive Genomic Profiling for Biliary Tract Cancer Using Transpapillary Biopsy Samples: A Prospective Study

open access: yesJournal of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Sciences, EarlyView.
Graphical summary of the study design, intervention, and outcomes. ABSTRACT Background Patients with biliary tract cancer (BTC) often have actionable mutations, and comprehensive genomic profiling (CGP) plays an important role. However, the feasibility of CGP using transpapillary biopsy (TPB) samples remains unclear.
