Closures in $\aleph_0$-categorical bilinear maps

open access: yes, 1997
Alternating bilinear maps with few relations allow to define a combinatorial closure similarly as in [2]. For the $\aleph_0$-categorical case we show that this closure is part of the algebraic closure.

Linear Toroidal‐Inertial Waves on A Differentially Rotating Sphere with Application to Helioseismology: Modeling, Forward and Inverse Problems

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper develops a mathematical framework for interpreting observations of solar inertial waves in an idealized setting. Under the assumption of purely toroidal linear waves on the sphere, the stream function of the flow satisfies a fourth‐order scalar equation.

Impacts of Resampling and Downscaling Digital Elevation Model and Its Morphometric Factors: A Comparison of Hopfield Neural Network, Bilinear, Bicubic, and Kriging Interpolations

open access: yesRemote Sensing
The digital elevation model (DEM) and its derived morphometric factors, i.e., slope, aspect, profile and plan curvatures, and topographic wetness index (TWI), are essential for natural hazard modeling and prediction as they provide critical information ...

Vibration Attenuation of Cantilever Beam Using Electromagnetic Delayed Feedback

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mechanical System Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study presents a combined analytical and numerical investigation of a single‐input single‐output delayed feedback controller designed to suppress vibrations in a cantilever beam actuated by an electromagnet positioned beneath its free end. An analytical model was developed using the linearized equation of motion for a transversely excited

A Coupled Extended Finite Element–Cohesive Zone Model for Hydraulic Fracture Propagation Under Poroelastic Effects Across Different Propagation Regimes

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical and Analytical Methods in Geomechanics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Numerical simulation of hydraulic fracturing remains challenging due to the strong coupling between geomechanics and fluid flow when modelling multiple physical mechanisms of rock deformation, fracture evolution and fluid leak‐off. This study develops a coupled hydraulic fracture propagation framework that combines the extended finite element ...

Superposition and Interaction Dynamics of Complexitons, Breathers, and Rogue Waves in a Landau–Ginzburg–Higgs Model for Drift Cyclotron Waves in Superconductors

open access: yesAxioms
This article implements the Hirota bilinear (HB) transformation technique to the Landau–Ginzburg–Higgs (LGH) model to explore the nonlinear evolution behavior of the equation, which describes drift cyclotron waves in superconductivity. Utilizing the Cole–

On bilinear maps on matrices with applications to commutativity preservers

open access: yes, 2006
Let Mn be the algebra of all n×n matrices over a commutative unital ring C, and let L be a C-module. Various characterizations of bilinear maps {.,.}:Mn×Mn→L with the property that {x,y}=0 whenever x any y commute are given.
