Bimodal conductance distribution of Kitaev edge modes in topological superconductors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
A two-dimensional superconductor with spin-triplet p-wave pairing supports chiral or helical Majorana edge modes with a quantized (length $L$-independent) thermal conductance.

Toward Scalable Solutions for Silver‐Based Gas Diffusion Electrode Fabrication for the Electrochemical Conversion of CO2 – A Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, the preparation techniques for silver‐based gas diffusion electrodes used for the electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide (eCO2R) are systematically reviewed and compared with respect to their scalability. In addition, physics‐based and data‐driven modeling approaches are discussed, and a perspective is given on how modeling can aid ...

Analysis of power of the classical and robust normality tests against bimodal distribution

open access: yesActa Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 2009
The aim of this paper is to compare the power of selected normality tests to detect a bimodal distribution. We use some classical normality tests (the Shapiro-Wilk test, the Lilliefors test, the Anderson-Darling test, the classical Jarque-Bera test and ...

Mimicking Block Copolymer Self‐Assembly with One‐Pot Synthesized Polyphosphoester Gradient Copolymers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Degradable Polyphosphoester (PPE) gradient copolymers (GCPs) are synthesized via one‐pot copolymerization. We show that GCPs self‐assemble into nanostructures like polymersomes, effectively mimicking the behavior of traditional BCPs. The gradient strength is key, with softer gradients favoring micelles.

Polynomial estimates of measurand parameters for data from bimodal mixtures of exponential distributions

open access: yesҚарағанды университетінің хабаршысы. Физика сериясы, 2018
A non-conventional approach to finding estimates of the result of multiple measurements for a random error model in the form of bimodal mixtures of exponential distributions is proposed.

Effects of resource-dependent cannibalism on population size distribution and individual life history in a case-bearing caddisfly. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2018
Resource availability often determines the intensity of cannibalism, which has a considerable effect on population size distribution and individual life history. Larvae of the caddisfly Psilotreta kisoensis build portable cases from sedimentary sands and

Bimodal Extended Kalman Filter-Based Pedestrian Trajectory Prediction

open access: yesSensors, 2022
We propose a pedestrian trajectory prediction algorithm based on the bimodal extended Kalman filter. With this filter, we are able to make full use of the dual-state nature of the pedestrian movement, i.e., the pedestrian is either moving or remains ...

Characterization of Bimodal Extension of the Generalized Gamma Distribution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Cankaya et al. (2015) [1] introduced a bimodal extension of the generalized gamma distribution and studied certain properties and applicability of this distribution. This is a continuous distribution whose probability density function is defined via two

Biomaterials‐Based Hydrogel with Superior Bio‐Mimetic Ionic Conductivity and Tissue‐Matching Softness for Bioelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
By mimicking the ion‐accelerating effect of ion channel receptors in neuron membranes, a biomaterials‐based ionic hydrogel (BIH) is developed, which offers a high ionic conductivity of 7.04 S m−1, outperforming conventional chitosan, cellulose, agarose, starch, and gelatin based ionic hydrogels.

On the mass distribution of neutron stars

open access: yes, 2011
The distribution of masses for neutron stars is analyzed using the Bayesian statistical inference, evaluating the likelihood of proposed gaussian peaks by using fifty-four measured points obtained in a variety of systems. The results strongly suggest the
