FINN: A Framework for Fast, Scalable Binarized Neural Network Inference
Research has shown that convolutional neural networks contain significant redundancy, and high classification accuracy can be obtained even when weights and activations are reduced from floating point to binary values.

Matrix Viscoelasticity Regulates Dendritic Cell Migration and Immune Priming
Matrix viscoelasticity is a key mechanical feature of the tumor microenvironment but remains poorly understood in immune regulation. Here, we develop a tunable collagen platform to decouple viscoelasticity from stiffness and show that slow‐relaxing matrices constrain dendritic cell migration by limiting actomyosin‐driven matrix remodeling, thereby ...

Combinatorial Approach for Data Binarization [PDF]
This paper addresses the problem of transforming arbitrary data into binary data. This is intended as preprocessing for a supervised classification task. As a binary mapping compresses the total information of the dataset, the goal here is to design such a mapping that maintains most of the information relevant to the classification problem.

Image pixels are converted into optical pulse sequences to stimulate the optoelectronic synaptic device, generating dynamic responses that form high‐dimensional features. These features improve classification efficiency and demonstrate strong potential for neuromorphic edge computing systems.

Binarizations in random number generation
Extracting procedures produce unbiased random bits from biased coin flips. Binarizations take inputs from an m-faced dice and produce bit sequences to be fed into a (binary) extracting procedure to obtain random bits, and this can be done in an entropy-preserving manner, without loss of information. Such a procedure has been proposed by Zhou and Bruck [

Attacking Binarized Neural Networks
Neural networks with low-precision weights and activations offer compelling efficiency advantages over their full-precision equivalents. The two most frequently discussed benefits of quantization are reduced memory consumption, and a faster forward pass when implemented with efficient bitwise operations. We propose a third benefit of very low-precision

Permanent magnet putty (PMP) integrates high‐coercivity NdFeB particles with a dynamic polyborosiloxane–Ecoflex matrix, achieving rapid self‐healing (90% mechanical recovery in 10 s) and magnetic recovery within 20 min. With twice the sensitivity of commercial putties, PMP enables precise 5–30 N force detection and discrimination between pressing and ...
