Circulating microRNA signatures of cachexia and cancer in Canis familiaris as a comparative oncology model for human disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating microRNAs as biomarkers of cachexia and sex‐specific cancer in senior dogs. In 25 client‐owned dogs, four circulating miRNAs (miR‐15a, miR‐15b, miR‐16, miR‐140) were downregulated in cachexia, with miR‐16 the strongest individual biomarker (AUC = 0.899).

Solvent effect on protonation of tpps in water-DMF mixtures

open access: yesBulletin of the Chemical Society of Ethiopia, 2017
The protonation of 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-sulfonatophenyl)porphyrin was investigated in aqueous solutions of N,N-dimethyformamide at 25 °C and 0.1 mol.dm-3 sodium perchlorate.

CEACAM1 participation in breast cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In invasive breast cancer (BC), CEACAM1 shifts from an apical to a uniform membranous/cytoplasmic pattern, or is lost, as tumors dedifferentiate, inversely tracking the Ki‐67 proliferative index. In MCF‐7 cells, only CEACAM1‐4L suppresses proliferation, repressing cell cycle and growth factor genes.

Influence of the stationary and mobile phase composition on solvent strength parameter εº and SP system parameter in NP column chromatography [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2002
It is shown that SP system parameters, previously used for the linearization of log k values in RP chromatography, can also be used in NP chromatography. Avery good linear correlation between SP parameter and the earlier described Snyder solvent strength

Binary colloidal mixtures in near-critical binary solvents

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics
The phase behavior of a single type of colloid C suspended in near-critical solvents is known to be very rich. Motivated in part by recent experiments [Kodger et al., “Composite colloidal assembly by critical Casimir forces,” arXiv:2602.12431 (2026)], we consider a mixture of two colloidal types C1 and C2 in a binary solvent close to its demixing ...

Attitudes of cancer patients toward ctDNA‐based liquid biopsy for follow‐up

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This mixed‐methods study explored cancer patients' experiences, knowledge, and preferences regarding ctDNA‐based liquid biopsy for follow‐up. Awareness of ctDNA was low and recall of previous liquid biopsy was imperfect, yet acceptance was high.
