Symmetric Metal Organic Framework‐Plasmonic Architectures for Reversible and High‐Sensitivity Optical Sensing

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 18, 25 March 2026.
This work presents a plasmonic sensing platform combining surface lattice resonances (SLRs) in 2D metal nanoparticle gratings with ZIF‐8 MOF films. The plasmonic grating is easily and scalably produced from template‐assisted assembly of metal colloids, which is fully compatible with MOF growth. The resulting MOF‐plasmonic structure allows for a dynamic

Beads‐on‐a‐Tip testing for ultrasensitive antigen detection across a large dynamic range

open access: yesSmart Molecules, Volume 4, Issue 1, March 2026.
Non‐specific adsorption on nitrocellulose membranes limits the sensitivity of conventional lateral flow immunoassays. Here, we present a Beads‐on‐a‐Tip immunoassay that replaces the membrane with magnetic beads for antigen capture and enrichment, while employing upconversion nanoparticles as background‐free luminescent reporters.

High‐Yield Assembly of Plasmon‐Coupled Nanodiamonds Using DNA Origami for Tuned Emission

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2026.
Engineering assemblies of single‐photon emitters and plasmonic elements with nanometer precision opens pathways for quantum sensing and photonics applications. A surface functionalization strategy is established for grafting DNA onto nanodiamonds, and their placement on DNA origami is optimized to achieve yields above 50%.

Light‐Activated Multifunctional Nanoplatforms: Reshaping Combination Therapy to Overcome Multidrug Resistance in Breast Cancer

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2026.
Multidrug resistance in breast cancer constitutes a major therapeutic obstacle. This review examines light‐activated nanoplatforms combining photothermal and photodynamic therapies to overcome this challenge. Through rational design, these systems enable spatiotemporal control, enhanced tumor targeting, and synergistic antitumor efficacy.

Enzyme‐Powered DNA Origami Nanostructures for Enhanced Mucosal Diffusion

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2026.
Single‐particle tracking reveals how DNA origami navigates mucus. Bare structures show limited diffusion, while enzyme‐functionalized nanostructures exhibit enhanced mobility. Symmetrically arranged urease creates uniform pH gradients for smooth propulsion, whereas asymmetrically placed catalase drives bubble‐mediated motion.
