Application of biofloc technology in furfural residue wastewater treatment: insights into water purification, microbial composition, and animal survival trials

Biofloc technology (BFT) was utilized to mitigate the risks associated with furfural residue wastewater (FRW). After BFT treatment, the removal efficiencies for COD, TOC, NH₄⁺-N, NO₃⁻-N, and SO₄²⁻ were 94.2%, 94.3%, 100%, 89.5%, and 89.4%, respectively.
