Transcriptomic, proteomic and biochemical comparison of luminescent and non‐luminescent Keroplatinae larvae (Diptera: Keroplatidae)

open access: yesInsect Molecular Biology, Volume 35, Issue 1, Page 34-47, February 2026.
Transcriptomic and proteomic comparison of luminescent O. fultoni and non‐luminescent Neoditomyia sp show that the substrate binding fraction (SBF) has a similar abundance of hexamerins and the presence of flavin‐dependent reductases. In addition to the high content of keroplatin, SBF also contains considerable amounts of riboflavin and displays ...

Molecular Evolution and Epidemiology of Benyviridae and the Agricultural Implications

open access: yesPlant Pathology, Volume 74, Issue 9, Page 2478-2491, December 2025.
This study reveals Benyvirus diversity and evolution, highlighting their agricultural impact and the need for molecular surveillance to manage emerging plant viral diseases. ABSTRACT Viruses from the Benyviridae family are important aetiological agents of diseases in plants and are responsible for significant losses in agricultural production across ...

5,6,7,4′‐Tetramethoxyflavone, a Dietary Polymethoxyflavone, Exerts Antitumor Effect on HeLa Xenografts in Mice

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 11, November 2025.
5,6,7,4′‐Tetramethoxyflavone can effectively inhibit the growth of cervical cancer transplanted tumors in nude mice, and it exhibits less toxicity, superior to cisplatin in safety profile. ABSTRACT 5,6,7,4′‐Tetramethoxyflavone (TMF), a naturally occurring polymethoxyflavone (PMF) abundant in Citrus species, has demonstrated potent antitumor activity ...

Retrotransposon Expression Is Upregulated in Adulthood and Suppressed during Regeneration of the Limb in the Axolotl (Ambystoma mexicanum)

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, Volume 9, Issue 10, October 2025.
The axolotl's remarkable regenerative abilities decline with age, the causes may include the numerous repetitive elements within its genome. This study uncovers how Ty3 retrotransposons and coexpression networks involving muscle and immune pathways respond to aging and regeneration, suggesting that transposons respond to physiological shifts and may ...

Mammalian TatD DNase domain containing 1 (TATDN1) is a proteostasis‐responsive gene with roles in ventricular structure and neuromuscular function

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 292, Issue 19, Page 5105-5129, October 2025.
Twin‐arginine translocation D (TatD) homologs are found across all kingdoms, with debated roles in DNA degradation and protein quality control in unicellular organisms. We characterize TATDN1, the mammalian TatD orthologue, as a proteostatic stress‐responsive cytosolic protein dispensable for DNA degradation.
