Across 1639 endemic Mexican species, we show that most species' ranges coincide with moderate to high human pressure, while existing conservation lands cover only a small fraction of their distributions. This spatial mismatch indicates that current conservation–land networks are insufficient to prevent future biodiversity loss. Substantial expansion of

We assessed alpha‐ and beta‐diversity patterns of spiders across different forests and across vegetation layers (ground, shrub, low canopy) at local spatial scales across various Mediterranean forest types. Across forests, alpha‐diversity increased with habitat heterogeneity, which also drove beta‐diversity patterns across plots .

Bacterial pathogens colonise woody hosts by integrating metabolic adaptation, effector‐mediated immune suppression, cell wall remodelling and EPS‐ and toxin‐supported persistence. ABSTRACT Bacterial pathogens of woody plants represent a pervasive yet underexplored threat to global agriculture and forestry, causing devastating diseases in fruit trees ...

ABSTRACT Plant viruses are recognized as rapid and effective vectors to deliver CRISPR‐Cas reaction components into plants, a strategy termed virus‐induced gene editing (VIGE). However, VIGE is limited by the host range of the viral vectors. Development of new viral vectors to target a broad range of plant species will potentially enable the delivery ...

ABSTRACT Lysine represents a metabolic hub linking mitochondrial energy status with amino acid catabolism, yet its role in coordinating plant growth and development remains poorly characterised. The dapat mutant, which is deficient in L,L‐diaminopimelate aminotransferase (DAPAT), exhibits severe growth inhibition associated with broad metabolic ...
