This study employs sc‐RNA sequencing, genetics, and phenotyping to systematically map the cell‐type‐specific immune responses triggered by flg22. It reveals FLS2‐dependent transcriptional reprogramming in epidermal and mesophyll cells, and uncovers crosstalk between immune and hypoxia signaling pathways.

Coupled Above‐ and Belowground Ecosystem Stability Worldwide
Are the worlds above and below our feet in sync? This global exploration reveals an entangled fate between above‐ and belowground ecosystem stability. It identifies arid regions as hotspots for this coupling and highlights temperature stability as a vital safeguard for maintaining ecosystem balance across our warming planet.

FRUIT PRODUCTION, AND DRY MATTER ACCUMULATION AND PARTITIONING IN GÁLIA MELON UNDER SALINE STRESS AND POTASSIUM LEVELS IN HYDROPONIC CULTIVATION [PDF]
Potassium, due to its physiological functions, can enhance plant tolerance to salinity. Based on this premise, the present study aimed to evaluate fruit production and biomass partitioning in Gália melon (McLaren hybrid) fertigated with saline nutrient ...

An assessment of the cost effectiveness of vegetation harvesting as a means of removing nutrient and metals from ponds [PDF]
This paper reports on an investigation to quantify the mass of pollutants removed from a stormwater retention pond by routine vegetation harvesting. The amount of plants can increase the costs of ponds, and the increased costs of plant maintenance may ...

Organic atmospheric particulate material [PDF]
Carbonaceous compounds comprise a substantial fraction of atmospheric particulate matter (PM). Particulate organic material can be emitted directly into the atmosphere or formed in the atmosphere when the oxidation products of certain volatile organic ...

Bioenergy Cropping Reduces the Spatiotemporal Scaling of Soil Bacterial Biodiversity
Consistent with patterns observed in plant and animal communities, soil bacterial communities exhibit significant species–time–area and phylogenetic–time–area relationships independent of nested structure. Bioenergy cropping significantly reduces the spatiotemporal scaling rates, particularly in sandy loam soils.

Water-soluble organic aerosol in the Los Angeles Basin and outflow regions: Airborne and ground measurements during the 2010 CalNex field campaign [PDF]
A particle-into-liquid sampler coupled to a total organic carbon analyzer (PILS-TOC) quantified particulate water-soluble organic carbon (WSOC) mass concentrations during the May 2010 deployment of the Center for Interdisciplinary Remotely Piloted ...
