From Sample to Mixed Reality: A Translational 3D MALDI Imaging Platform for Advanced 3D Spatial Omics Analysis of 3D Cell Culture Disease Models

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A comprehensive technology platform enables high‐fidelity, volumetric MALDI imaging of 3D cell cultures by integrating custom embedding molds, a semi‐automated computational framework for 3D reconstruction, voxel‐instead of pixel‐based biomarker discovery, and immersive mixed reality data exploration.

Histomorphometric analysis of liver biopsies of treated patients with Gaucher disease type 1

open access: yesAutopsy and Case Reports, 2021
Gaucher disease (GD) is an autosomal recessive lysosomal disorder caused by a disturbance in the metabolism of glucocerebroside in the macrophages. Most of its manifestations – hepatosplenomegaly, anemia, thrombocytopenia, and bone pain – are amenable to

Targeting IL27RA Enhances Immunotherapy in Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer by Modulating Tumor Cells and the Tumor Microenvironment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
IL27RA upregulation drives immune evasion in TNBC by suppressing MHC‐I expression and reprogramming T/NK‐cell states, establishing an immune‐excluded tumor phenotype. Targeting this epithelial‐intrinsic IL27RA–PI3K/AKT axis offers a promising strategy to overcome immunotherapy resistance.

Arbitrary 3D Organic Mixed Ionic‐Electronic Conductor Architectures via Self‐Fusion of PEDOT:PSS Microfibers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A general fabricating strategy for arbitrary 3D organic mixed ionic‐electronic conductor architectures is reported using PEDOT:PSS microfiber building blocks. A water‐assisted self‐fusion process is successfully developed in which adhesion can be modulated as reversible (PSS‐rich) or irreversible (PEDOT‐rich) self‐fusion depending on the post‐treatment

Data‐Driven Feedback Identifies Focused Ultrasound Exposure Regimens for Improved Nanotheranostic Targeting of the Brain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The blood‐brain barrier (BBB) renders the delivery of nanomedicine in the brain ineffective and the detection of circulating disease‐related DNA from the brain unreliable. Here, we demonstrate that microbubble‐enhanced focused ultrasound (MB‐FUS) mediated BBB opening, supported by large‐data models predict sonication regimens for safe and ...

Diagnosing non-palpable breast disease: short-term impact on quality of life of large-core needle biopsy versus open breast biopsy

open access: yesSurgical Oncology, 2002
One of the alleged advantages of stereotactic large-core needle biopsy of non-palpable breast lesions is that it entails less inconvenience for the patient. In this prospective study, the quality of life of patients undergoing large-core needle biopsy was compared with that of patients undergoing open breast biopsy prior to learning the definitive ...

AI‐Based D‐Amino Acid Substitution for Optimizing Antimicrobial Peptides to Treat Multidrug‐Resistant Bacterial Infection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study constructed the first D‐amino acid antimicrobial peptide dataset and developed an AI model for efficient screening of substitution sites, with 80% of candidate peptides showing enhanced activity. The lead peptide dR2‐1 demonstrated potent antimicrobial activity in vitro and in vivo, high stability, and low toxicity.

Does a large prostate size, small lesion volume, or long needle distance from the probe to the lesion reduce magnetic resonance imaging–targeted cancer detection?

open access: yesCurrent Urology
. Background. We aimed to evaluate whether large prostate size, small lesion volume, or long lesion distance from the ultrasound probe tip would decrease cancer detection in transrectal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)–targeted biopsies.

BHLHE40 Orchestrates Effector Tissue‐Resident Memory CD8+ T Cells and Limits Long‐Term Survival of Kidney Graft

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An effector subset of TRM, defined as CD49a+PD1hi CD8+ TRM, represents a BHLHE40‐orchestrated resident immune component that, rather than circulating cells, plays as a major contributor to allograft rejection. ABSTRACT Tissue‐resident memory T cells (TRM), which function against tumors, infections, and non‐self antigens in organ transplantation ...

Deep Learning‐Assisted Coherent Raman Scattering Microscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
The analytical capabilities of coherent Raman scattering microscopy are augmented through deep learning integration. This synergistic paradigm improves fundamental performance via denoising, deconvolution, and hyperspectral unmixing. Concurrently, it enhances downstream image analysis including subcellular localization, virtual staining, and clinical ...
