AbstractThe hepatic phenylalanine hydroxylating system consists of three essential components, phenylalanine hydroxylase, dihydropteridine reductase and the non‐protein coenzyme, tetrahydrobiopterin. The reductase and the pterin coenzyme are also essential components of the tyrosine and tryptophan hydroxylating systems.
