Detection of a Target Nucleic Acid by Ligation‐Assisted Fluorescence Enhancement of a Peptide Nucleic Acid (PNA) Twin Probe via Disulfide Binding

open access: yesBiopolymers, Volume 117, Issue 4, July 2026.
Target‐induced disulfide ligation of PNA twin probes promotes pyrene excimer formation for nucleic acid detection. ABSTRACT The development of methods for detecting specific nucleic acids is important for early diagnosis and treatment of diseases at the genetic level.

High Gene Flow Despite Urbanization: Genetic Diversity and Structure of the Eastern Spotted Dove (Spilopelia chinensis) in Jiangsu Province, China and Implications for Releasing Confiscated Individuals

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 7, July 2026.
This study reveals high haplotype diversity but low nucleotide diversity in Eastern Spotted Dove (Spilopelia chinensis) populations across Jiangsu Province, China, based on mitochondrial Cytb and D‐loop sequences from 139 individuals. Despite sampling from 13 sites spanning five geographical regions and varying urbanization levels, genetic analyses ...

Scale Dependence of Woody Plant β‐Diversity in a Tropical Rainforest Metacommunity

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 7, July 2026.
Using a scale‐explicit metacommunity framework in a tropical rainforest, we examined how woody plant compositional dissimilarity and its replacement and richness‐difference components vary across spatial extents. Compositional dissimilarity increased modestly with extent but remained consistently dominated by species replacement, while environmental ...

First Assessment of Genetic Diversity, Phylogeographic Relationships, and Population Structure of the Brown Seaweed Ericaria amentacea From Italian Coasts Using Cytochrome Oxidase Subunit I (COI) Gene

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 7, July 2026.
First assessment of genetic diversity, phylogeographic relationships, and population structure of the brown seaweed Ericaria amentacea from Italian. ABSTRACT Ericaria amentacea is an endemic key seaweed species in the coastal ecosystem of the Mediterranean basin. Given its ecological role and sensitivity to environmental conditions decline, it has been

Thermodynamic Mechanisms of Co‐S Bond Anchoring in Few‐Layered 1T‐MoS2 for Enhanced Capacitive Performance via Spin State Regulation and Ion Diffusion Kinetics

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, Volume 9, Issue 4, July 2026.
The one‐pot hydrothermal prep of Co‐doped few‐layer 1T‐MoS2 shows Co‐S bonds stabilizing the 1T phase, enhancing supercapacitor performance. Few‐layered 1T‐MoS2 is highly promising for supercapacitor applications due to its wide interlayer spacing, high electrical conductivity, and abundant active sites.
