A new desiccation-related protein identified by proteomics in the phylloplane of Theobroma cacao [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Currently, 20 millions of people from producing countries, such as Brazil, depend directly on cacao (Theobroma cacao L.) for their survival. The witches' broom disease caused by the fungus Moniliophthora perniciosa had drastic consequences on the socio ...

Biopolítica, Biotecnologias e Biomedicina

open access: yesRevista Subjetividades, 2015

In Vitro Evaluation of Novel Calcium Silicate‐Based and Resin‐Modified Calcium Silicate Materials: Cytocompatibility and Mineralization Potential on Human Dental Pulp Stem Cells for Pulp Repair

open access: yesMicroscopy Research and Technique, Volume 89, Issue 6, Page 932-947, June 2026.
This study demonstrates that Biodentine XP exhibits superior cytocompatibility, promotes odontogenic differentiation, and enhances mineralization in human dental pulp stem cells, supporting its use in regenerative endodontics. Resin‐modified materials showed lower bioactivity, highlighting the importance of material composition in pulp therapy outcomes.

Investigating the role of a conserved hydrophobic pocket of gp41 in the anti‐HIV activity of fusion inhibitors

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Membrane fusion between HIV and host cells requires interaction between the N‐terminal and C‐terminal repeat regions (NHR and CHR) of the gp41 envelope subunit. A deep hydrophobic pocket (HP) on the surface of NHR is considered crucial in this interaction.

Snapshots of Motion: A Novel Structural Intermediate Reveals Conserved Dynamics in Archaeal DNA Ligases

open access: yesProteins: Structure, Function, and Bioinformatics, Volume 94, Issue 6, Page 1245-1258, June 2026.
ABSTRACT We present the first x‐ray crystallographic structural evidence of an archaeal DNA ligase showing the AMP covalent adduct together with further cofactor hydrolysis, capturing a transient intermediary in the first step of the ligation reaction, triggered by the pyrophosphate hydrolysis.

Validation of Coffee seed promoter in Nicotiana tabacum [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Promoters that restrict transgenic expressions in a specific organ or tissue and, at a certain stage of plant development or in response to stress are extremely desirable for the improvement of agronomic species by transgenesis.

Genetic control of wheat flour end‐use quality and rheology by genome‐wide association studies

open access: yesThe Plant Genome, Volume 19, Issue 2, June 2026.
Abstract Improving end‐use quality in bread wheat (Triticum aestivum) requires dissecting the genetic basis of complex processing traits and deploying robust prediction pipelines in breeding. We performed genome‐wide association studies (GWASs) using 1767 high‐quality single‐nucleotide polymorphisms generated by genotyping‐by‐sequencing in a diverse ...
