Long‐Term Elevated CO2 Improves Soil Health and Rice Yields in Paddy Fields

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Combining the two longest‐running rice free‐air CO2 enrichment experiments with a global data synthesis, this study demonstrates that long‐term elevated CO2 consistently enhances soil health. In rice paddies, this improvement sustains the CO2 fertilization effect over decades.

Emphasizing the Role of Long Non-Coding RNAs (lncRNA), Circular RNA (circRNA), and Micropeptides (miPs) in Plant Biotic Stress Tolerance

open access: yesPlants, 2023
Biotic stress tolerance in plants is complex as it relies solely on specific innate immune responses from different plant species combating diverse pathogens.

Structural and Functional Characterization of EXPO‐Derived Extracellular Vesicles in Plants

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, 3D electron tomography (ET), cryo‐ET, and immunogold transmission electron microscopy (TEM) are employed to characterize plant extracellular vesicles (EVs) under physiological conditions. EVs are classified into three distinct categories according to their size, content, and molecular‐marker profiles. Furthermore, Exo70E2‐positive medium

Bacterial diet and weak cadmium stress affect the survivability of Caenorhabditis elegans and its resistance to severe stress

open access: yesHeliyon, 2019
Stress may have negative or positive effects in dependence of its intensity (hormesis). We studied this phenomenon in Caenorhabditis elegans by applying weak or severe abiotic (cadmium, CdCl2) and/or biotic stress (different bacterial diets) during ...

2‐line Ferrihydrite Enhance Microbial Synthesis of Plant Biostimulants in Composted Biosolid by Regulating Phyla Pseudomonadota and Actinomycetota

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study explores how iron and manganese oxides transform sewage sludge into plant biostimulants during composting. Non‐targeted identification reveals the main species of plant biostimulants. Metagenomic analysis reveals that 2‐line ferrihydrite specifically enriches microbial genes for biosynthesis, boosting plant‐growth promoters.

Productivity, Weed Dynamics, Nutrient Mining, and Monetary Advantage of Maize-Legume Intercropping in the Eastern Himalayan Region of India

open access: yesPlant Production Science, 2014
Despite the lack of scientific knowledge on plant density and its influence on component crops in intercropping, risk-averse smallholder farmers unabatedly continue growing crops in a mixture, which finally lowers the productivity of the system.

Transcriptome Analysis of Sunflower Genotypes with Contrasting Oxidative Stress Tolerance Reveals Individual- and Combined- Biotic and Abiotic Stress Tolerance Mechanisms. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
In nature plants are often simultaneously challenged by different biotic and abiotic stresses. Although the mechanisms underlying plant responses against single stress have been studied considerably, plant tolerance mechanisms under combined stress is ...
