Application of Cadaverine to Inhibit Biotin Biosynthesis in Plants
Biotin is an essential vitamin in plants. However, characterization of biotin deficiency has been limited by embryo lethality in mutants, which can only be rescued by supplementation of biotin.

De Novo Design of Integrin α5β1 Modulating Proteins to Enhance Biomaterial Properties
NeoNectins are de novo‐designed miniproteins that selectively bind and stabilize the extended open form of integrin α5β1. When grafted onto biomaterials including hydrogel and titanium, they promote cell attachment and spreading in vitro and promoting tissue integration and bone growth in animal models, demonstrating broad potential for regenerative ...

Engineering Bacterial Secretion Systems for Enhanced Tumor Imaging and Surgical Guidance
This study presents a novel contrast agent platform, Streptavidin Associated Salmonella (SAS), for fluorescence image guided surgery. SAS selectively colonizes tumors and secretes streptavidin, enabling precise delineation of invasive tumor margins with prolonged signal retention.

Diversity in functional organization of class I and class II biotin protein ligase. [PDF]
The cell envelope of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M. tuberculosis) is composed of a variety of lipids including mycolic acids, sulpholipids, lipoarabinomannans, etc., which impart rigidity crucial for its survival and pathogenesis.

OXavidin for Tissue Targeting Biotinylated Therapeutics [PDF]
Avidin is a glycoprotein from hen egg white that binds biotin with very high affinity. Here we describe OXavidin, a product containing aldehyde groups, obtained by ligand‐assisted sugar oxidation of avidin by sodium periodate. OXavidin chemically reacts with cellular and tissue proteins through Schiff′s base formation thus residing in tissues for weeks
