Biochemical Pharmacology, 1965Abstract The transformation of nitroglycerin (NG) was accomplished by the formation of 1,2- and 1,3-dinitroglycerin. The dinitrates were resistant to further degradation and appeared as the urinary metabolites after the administration of NG. The dinitroglycerins were less active coronary vasodilators and blood pressure depressants than NG.
