Crystal structure of 4,4′-bis[3-(piperidin-1-yl)prop-1-yn-1-yl]-1,1′-biphenyl

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E: Crystallographic Communications, 2017
The title compound, C28H32N2, (I), is one of a second generation of compounds designed and synthesized based on a very potent and selective α9α10 nicotinic acetylcholine receptor antagonist ZZ161C {1,1′-[[1,1′-biphenyl]-4,4′-diylbis(prop-2-yne-3,1-diyl ...

PD-L1 dimerisation induced by biphenyl derivatives mediates anti-breast cancer activity via the non-immune PD-L1–AKT–mTOR/Bcl2 pathway

open access: yesJournal of Enzyme Inhibition and Medicinal Chemistry, 2023
Recent studies on biphenyl-containing compounds, a type of PD-1/PD-L1 blocker which binds to PD-L1 and induces dimerisation, have focussed on its immune function. Herein, 10 novel biphenyl derivatives were designed and synthesised. The results of the CCK-

(4R)-4-(Biphenyl-4-yl)-7-chloro-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline

open access: yes, 2011
The title compound, C(21)H(18)ClN, was synthesized by an enanti-oselective Brønsted acid-catalysed transfer hydrogenation reaction. The six-membered heterocycle adopts a half-chair conformation. It has the biphenyl residue in an axial position.

Counterintuitive Fluorescence Blue Shift in Symmetry Breaking Dicationic Bis(indolium) with Two‐Photon Absorption Properties for NIR Living Cell Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Highly water‐soluble dicationic bis(indolium) dyes have been prepared, showing excellent two‐photon absorption and light emission. Their fluorescence behavior discloses an unusual increasing blue shift with increasing solvent polarity, which, in parallel, is beneficial for enhanced detection in biological media.

Arylsulfonamides From the Roots and Rhizomes of Baker

open access: yesNatural Product Communications, 2020
One new arylsulfonamide ( 1 ) and a novel natural product ( 2 ) were isolated from the roots and rhizomes of Tupistra chinensis Baker. Their structures were characterized by physicochemical properties and spectroscopic methods, as 2-[2-([1,1′-biphenyl]-4-

The synthesis of 1-biphenyl-4-alkyl-[1,2,3]-triazoles and their mesomorphic behaviour

open access: yes, 2019
A series of 1-biphenyl-4-alkyl-[1,2,3]-triazole-based liquid crystal compounds were synthesised via a fast and efficient microwave mediated ‘Click Reaction’ and their phase behaviour is presented. Most of the 1-(3-fluorobiphenyl)-4-alkyl-[1,2,3]-triazole

High Light Utilization and Color Rendering in Vacuum‐Deposited Semitransparent Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, low bandgap (≈1.55 eV) semitransparent perovskite solar cells (ST‐PSCs) having thin (thickness < ≈100 nm) perovskite layers and transparent conductive oxide‐based rear electrodes are fabricated using vacuum‐deposition methods. Two different ST‐PSCs demonstrated a high light utilization efficiency value of 4.2 (PCE: 9.26% and AVT: 45.3 ...
