Sensitivity of PANDA high-birefringence fiber loop mirror with temperature sensing
SPIE Proceedings, 2010With surrounding temperature changing, the shifting characteristics of the filtered spectrum of Panda high birefringence loop mirror are researched, according to the birefringence laws of Panda high-birefringence fiber and filter properties of the high-birefringence fiber loop mirror. Its sensitivity coefficient is up to 1.4219×10 -9 m/°C.

Strain and Temperature Discrimination Using Concatenated High-Birefringence Fiber Loop Mirrors

Tunable Multiwavelength Fiber Ring Lasers Using a Programmable High-Birefringence Fiber Loop Mirror
IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 2004We demonstrate a comb filter with digitally tunable wavelength spacing using a programmable high-birefringence (HiBi) fiber loop mirror (FLM). We then use the HiBi-FLM to implement a tunable multiwavelength semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA)-based fiber ring laser and a tunable multiwavelength all-fiber Raman ring laser.

Curvature sensor based on low-birefringence photonic crystal fiber Sagnac loop
2010 Photonics Global Conference, 2010A fiber optic curvature sensor with low-birefringence photonic crystal fiber (PCF) based Sagnac loop is demonstrated experimentally. The low-birefringence PCF is about 40cm long, using as the sensing element. The Sagnac output spectra under different curvatures are measured and analyzed.

Highly birefringent photonic bandgap Bragg fiber loop mirror for sensing applications
SPIE Proceedings, 2011A highly-birefringent photonic bandgap Bragg fiber loop mirror sensor is proposed. Thanks to the Bragg fiber geometry, one can observe the group birefringence and the bandgap fiber in the transfer function. The sensing head presented different sensitivities for strain and temperature measurements.
