Residual monomer (Bis‐GMA) of composite resins
Journal of Oral Rehabilitation, 1982SummaryA method of measuring residual monomer (Bis‐GMA) is described. In addition, the percentage of residual monomer eluted into water from composite resins after setting was compared for several commercial products.

Effects of water on the long‐term properties of Bis‐GMA and silylated‐(Bis‐GMA) polymers
Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2007AbstractBis‐GMA (2,2‐bis‐[4‐(2‐hydroxy‐3‐methacryloxypropoxy)phenyl]propane) is a viscous hygroscopic monomer which is used with triethyleneglycol‐dimethacrylate (TEGDMA) for dental restorations. Bis‐GMA was silylated with dimethyl‐isopropyl‐siloxane and further polymerized in order to increase water resistance and viscosity.

Isocyanato- and Methacryloxysilanes Promote Bis-GMA Adhesion to Titanium
Journal of Dental Research, 2005In dentistry, adhesion promotion with 3-methacryloyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane is usually sufficient, but its hydrolytic stability is a continuous concern. The hydrolytic stability of an alternative, 3-isocyanatopropyltriethoxysilane, was compared with that of conventional 3-methacryloyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane.

BIS-GMA–BASED RESINS IN DENTISTRY: ARE THEY SAFE?
The Journal of the American Dental Association, 1999The authors critically surveyed research dealing with the release of resin components from dental composites and the potential of these agents to mimic or disrupt estrogenic cell responses. The studies reviewed included those on synthetic methods used to make bisphenol A glycidyl methacrylate, or BIS-GMA, and the biological effects of this resin in cell

Synthesis, characterization and evaluation of urethane derivatives of Bis-GMA
Dental Materials, 2003The aims of the study were to synthesize derivatives of Bis-GMA having pendant n-alkyl urethane substituents and to characterize and evaluate their physicochemical properties.Stoichiometric amounts of Bis-GMA and n-alkyl isocyanates were reacted in dichloromethane with dibutyltin dilaurate as a catalyst.

Water sorption of polymethacrylate networks: Bis‐GMA/TEGDM copolymers
Journal of Biomedical Materials Research, 1987AbstractPolymethacrylate networks were made by copolymerization of a range of compositions of bis‐GMA and triethylene glycoldimethacrylate (TEGDM). Polymerization was initiated both by heating with benzoyl peroxide or by photopolymerization (λ > 400 nm) using camphoroquinone as sensitizer. The uptake of water increased from 3 to 6% as the proportion

Water sorption in a bis(GMA)/TEGDMA resin
Journal of Biomedical Materials Research, 1984AbstractSome water sorption–desorption properties of a heat‐cured copolymer of bisphenol‐A‐glycidyl methacrylate/triethylene‐glycol‐dimethacrylate [bis(GMA)/TEGDMA] were investigated during three sequential water sorption–desorption cycles at 60, 37, and 60°C.

Bis-GMA affects craniofacial development in zebrafish embryos ( Danio rerio )
Environmental Toxicology and Pharmacology, 2016Estrogen is a steroid hormone that is vital in vertebrate development and plays a role in a variety of developmental processes including cartilage and craniofacial formation. The effects of estrogen can be mimicked by other compounds found in the environment known as xenoestrogens. Bisphenol-A (BPA) is a known xenoestrogen and is combined with glycidyl

Farklı Kompozit Dolguların BIS-GMA Salınımlarının İncelenmesi
2021ÖZETAmaç: Kompozit malzemelerin sıklıkla yapısında yer alan BIS-GMA, polimerizasyondan sonra reaksiyona girmeden kalabilmektedir. Artık monomerlerin bilinen zararlı etkileri nedeniyle, dental malzemelerden salınan monomer miktarlarının belirlenmesi çok önemlidir.

Post-irradiation polymerization of composites containing bis-GMA and TEGDMA
Dental Materials, 1999This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of the amount of TEGDMA on post-irradiation polymerization of bis-GMA based composites.Four experimental composites containing bis-GMA and TEGDMA at the ratios (w/w) of 75/25, 70/30, 67/33, and 50/50 were prepared.
