Reproductive Toxicity Evaluation of the Dental Resin Monomer Bisphenol A Glycidyl Methacrylate (CAS 1565-94-2) in Mice [PDF]

open access: bronzeInternational Journal of Toxicology, 2013
The reproductive toxicity potential of the dental resin monomer bisphenol A glycidyl methacrylate (BisGMA; CASRN 1565-94-2) was investigated in male and female Crl: CD1(ICR) mice, 4 dosage groups, and 25 mice/sex/group. Formulations of BisGMA (0, 0.008, 0.08, or 0.8 mg/kg/d) in 0.8% ethanol in deionized water were intubated once daily beginning 28 ...

Use of Dental Bisphenol A-Glycidyl Methacrylate Composite to Repair Refractory Cerebrospinal Fluid Leaks Associated With Large-Scale Anterior Skull Base Defects

open access: closedJournal of Craniofacial Surgery, 2021
Abstract Treatment of refractory cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks, particularly those associated with large skull base defects, is challenging. A variety of synthetic biomaterial-based systems have been investigated in experimental models and/or humans for reconstructing cranial base defects.

Preparation and evaluation of modified bisphenol‐A‐glycidyl methacrylate resin dental adhesive to zirconia

open access: closedPolymer Engineering & Science, 2022
AbstractIn recent years, zirconia repair materials have developed rapidly and are now widely used in the preparation of dental restorations such as crowns, veneers, and bridges. Zirconium oxide has excellent mechanical properties and excellent biocompatibility. However, the inertness of itself determined that it cannot bond well with dental hard tissue,

Rutin alleviates bisphenol A‐glycidyl methacrylate‐induced generation of proinflammatory mediators through the MAPK and NF‐κB pathways in macrophages

open access: closedEnvironmental Toxicology, 2022
AbstractBisphenol A‐glycidyl methacrylate (BisGMA) is a methacrylate monomer that is mainly used in three‐dimensional structures to reconstruct dental and bony defects. BisGMA has toxic and proinflammatory effects on macrophages. Rutin is a natural flavonol glycoside that is present in various plants and has useful biological effects, such as anti ...

Nonylphenyl methacrylate modified bisphenol‐a‐glycidyl dimethacrylate(BisGMA) networks [PDF]

open access: closedPigment & Resin Technology, 2006
PurposeTo evaluate the performance of a reactive diluent, nonylphenyl methacrylate (NPM) for toughness improvement of bisphenol‐a‐glycidyl dimethacrylate (BisGMA) and to optimise the results of such a modification.Design/methodology/approachTo achieve desirable rheological and physico‐mechanical properties of BisGMA/NPM network, various compositions ...

Cytotoxicity of bisphenol A glycidyl methacrylate on cytochrome P450‐producing cells

open access: closedJournal of Oral Rehabilitation, 2003
summary  Of the cytochrome P450 (CYP) family of carcinogen‐activating enzymes, CYP3A is the major form found in human livers. The purpose of this study was to investigate the cytotoxic effects of dental resin monomers after being metabolized by CYP3A4 and CYP3A7, using a colony formation assay and a neutral red assay.

The surface hardness of three bisphenol A and glycidyl methacrylate fissure sealants

open access: closedJournal of Dentistry, 1975
Abstract The microhardness of fissure sealants stored in distilled water was determined. Polymerization of the materials continued after initial activation. One material demonstrated an elastic recoil effect at the as-set stage and did not polymerize effectively in the period suggested by the manufacturer.
