Genotoxic activity of bisphenol A and its analogues bisphenol S, bisphenol F and bisphenol AF and their mixtures in human hepatocellular carcinoma (HepG2) cells

open access: yesScience of the Total Environment, 2019
The use of bisphenol A (BPA) in manufacturing of plastics is being gradually replaced by presumably safer analogues such as bisphenol S (BPS), bisphenol F (BPF) and bisphenol AF (BPAF). Despite their widespread occurrence in the environment, there is a knowledge gap in their toxicological profiles. We investigated cytotoxic/genotoxic effects as well as

Impacts of bisphenol A analogues on zebrafish post‐embryonic brain

open access: yesJournal of Neuroendocrinology, 2020
AbstractBisphenol A (BPA) is a widely studied and well‐recognised endocrine‐disrupting chemical, and one of the current issues is its safe replacement by various analogues. Using larva zebrafish as a model, the present study reveals that moderate and chronic exposure to BPA analogues such as bisphenol S, bisphenol F and bisphenol AF may also affect ...

Bisphenol A and its analogues in sedimentary microplastics of Hong Kong

open access: yesMarine Pollution Bulletin, 2021
The occurrence and spatial distribution of bisphenol A (BPA) and analogues bisphenol B (BPB), bisphenol F (BPF) and bisphenol S (BPS) were investigated in microplastic on 11 beaches in Hong Kong. At 10 sites, BPA was the only detected chemical with concentrations ranged from 82.4-989 ng g-1 microplastic.

Serum concentration of bisphenol analogues in pregnant women in China

Science of the Total Environment, 2020
There is increasing concern regarding human exposure to bisphenol analogues (BPs) due to their widespread use and potentially adverse effects. Nevertheless, information on the occurrence of BPs in pregnant women is limited. In this study, BPs were detected in 181 serum samples from pregnant Chinese women. Ten BPs, including bisphenol S (BPS), bisphenol
