Partially Biobased Polyurethanes With Reversibly Crosslinkable Furan Units Toward Recyclable Thermosetting Textile Fibres

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
A molecular design strategy combines lignin‐derived aromatic units, sugar‐derived furan groups, and flexible glycol segments to create wet‐spinnable polyurethanes. Thermally reversible Diels–Alder crosslinking chemistry enables formation of crosslinked thermosetting fibers, repeated de‐crosslinking/re‐crosslinking cycles, and tunable fiber properties ...

Experimental methods in chemical engineering: Magnetometry

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract Magnetometry is a non‐invasive technique to characterize the behaviour of magnetic materials of which the most common contain Fe, Co, and Ni. Vibrating sample magnetometers (VSMs) vibrate samples at a fixed frequency in a static, homogeneous magnetic field to induce a voltage in pick up coils according to Faraday's law of induction.

Circular and Bio‐Sourced Polymers for Energy Applications: Natural Feedstocks, Recycling, and Upcycling Routes

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
This review provides a critical comparative analysis of circular and bio‐sourced polymers for energy storage, systematically evaluating natural feedstocks alongside recycling and upcycling strategies for battery components. Key structure–property–performance relationships and inherent trade‐offs between sustainability metrics and electrochemical ...

Light‐Induced Structural Reorganization of Fe Centers Unlocks High Efficiency of Visible‐Light Photo‐Fenton Water Cleaning Catalyst

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Bimetallic Cu and Fe oxide species supported on porous silica with interparticle mesoporosity act as efficient photo‐Fenton‐like catalysts under visible light. Photogenerated electrons drive the Cu2+/Cu1+ redox cycle. Part of Cu1+ is responsible for the regeneration of the Fe3+/Fe2+ cycle at neutral pH. Light irradiation additionally induces structural

Molecular mechanisms of environmental bisphenol exposure in major depressive disorder: A multimodal analysis

open access: yesEcotoxicology and Environmental Safety
Bisphenol compounds are pervasive environmental contaminants linked to neuropsychiatric disorders, yet their molecular interactions with major depressive disorder (MDD) pathogenesis remain unclear.

Enhanced Electron‐Capturing by Single‐Atomic Iron on Pyridinic N‐Deficient Carbon Drives Self‐Oxidative Degradation of Pollutants

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Pyrolysis of FeOx/g‐C3N4 and ZIF‐8 is performed to introduce Fe single atom and pyridinic nitrogen vacancies onto N‐doped carbon. This modification enables the materials to efficiently extract electrons from ciprofloxacin (CIP) and activate dissolved oxygen. 100% of CIP was degraded within 1 min without adding any oxidant.

A Straightforward Synthesis of Benzestrol by Matteson Homologation Using Chiral Benzyl Carbamates

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Benzestrol can easily be obtained stereoselectively via Matteson reaction using chiral Boronic esters and chiral benzyl carbamates. A straightforward and highly stereoselective synthesis of the non‐steroidal estrogen benzestrol is described based on Matteson homologations.

Biomass‐derived hydrochars as eco‐friendly adsorbents for wastewater treatment applications

open access: yesEnvironmental Progress &Sustainable Energy, EarlyView.
Abstract Emerging organic pollutants (EOPs), such as diethyl phthalate (DEP), bisphenol A (BPA), and methylene blue (MB), are only partially removed in conventional wastewater treatment plants. This study assesses hydrochars produced by hydrothermal carbonization (HTC) of spruce bark (SB), vine shoots (VSs), and wheat straw (WSs) for removing three ...

DNA Damage and Bisphenol Levels in Chronic Kidney Disease Patients Undergoing Hemodialysis

open access: yesJournal of Xenobiotics
Bisphenol (BP) compounds are widely present in the environment, primarily due to their use as plastic additives. These substances involve health risks, particularly as endocrine disruptors.

Effect of Ammonium Polyphosphate/Silicate Content on the Postfire Mechanics of Epoxy Glass‐Fiber Composites Using Facile Chocolate Bar‐Inspired Structures

open access: yesFire and Materials, Volume 49, Issue 3, Page 329-346, April 2025.
ABSTRACT This study investigates the postfire mechanical properties of epoxy glass‐fiber reinforced composites (EP GFRCs) using increasing concentrations of ammonium polyphosphate (APP) and inorganic silicate (InSi) to modify the char and fire residue.
