Glyoxylic‐Acetal‐Based Gel‐Polymer Electrolytes for Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, Volume 8, Issue 3, March 2025.
A safe electrolyte based on tetraethoxyglyoxal (LE) is combined with a methacrylate polymer matrix. The resulting gel‐polymer electrolyte (GPE) exhibits an increased flash point, suitable ionic conductivity, and a stable performance in lithium‐ion battery cells.

Magnetic lipase B from Candida antarctica (CALB) biocatalyst for integrated valorization of tilapia by‐products and biodiesel biorefining

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract The immobilization of lipase B from Candida antarctica (CALB) on an amino‐epoxy functionalized magnetic support (Fe3O4‐PEI‐DGEBA) resulted in a highly stable and efficient biocatalyst for biofuel production from tilapia oil. The synthesized support was characterized using scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X‐ray ...

Bisphenol S, a New Bisphenol Analogue, in Paper Products and Currency Bills and Its Association with Bisphenol A Residues

open access: yes, 2012
As the evidence of the toxic effects of bisphenol A (BPA) grows, its application in commercial products is gradually being replaced with other related compounds, such as bisphenol S (BPS). Nevertheless, very little is known about the occurrence of BPS in

Light‐Induced Structural Reorganization of Fe Centers Unlocks High Efficiency of Visible‐Light Photo‐Fenton Water Cleaning Catalyst

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Bimetallic Cu and Fe oxide species supported on porous silica with interparticle mesoporosity act as efficient photo‐Fenton‐like catalysts under visible light. Photogenerated electrons drive the Cu2+/Cu1+ redox cycle. Part of Cu1+ is responsible for the regeneration of the Fe3+/Fe2+ cycle at neutral pH. Light irradiation additionally induces structural

Carbon-13 NMR Studies of Solid Bisphenol-A Alkanoates.

open access: yes, 1995
Magic-angle spinning 13C spectra are reported for six bisphenol-A alkanoates, usually with cross-polarisation. These reveal effects arising from crystallographic non-equivalence, molecular motion (phenylene ring-flipping) and non-crystalline forms.

Enhanced Electron‐Capturing by Single‐Atomic Iron on Pyridinic N‐Deficient Carbon Drives Self‐Oxidative Degradation of Pollutants

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Pyrolysis of FeOx/g‐C3N4 and ZIF‐8 is performed to introduce Fe single atom and pyridinic nitrogen vacancies onto N‐doped carbon. This modification enables the materials to efficiently extract electrons from ciprofloxacin (CIP) and activate dissolved oxygen. 100% of CIP was degraded within 1 min without adding any oxidant.

Simultaneous migration of bisphenol compounds and trace metals in canned vegetable food

open access: yesFood Chemistry, 2019
For the very first time, this study investigates the simultaneous migration of several metals and bisphenol compounds from coated tinplate cans into vegetable foods highly consumed worldwide. The role played by heat treatment, food type and brand, storage conditions, can denting and cooking food directly in cans is also assessed. Migration of bisphenol
