Adaptive minimum bit-error-rate filtering [PDF]
Adaptive filtering has traditionally been developed based on the minimum mean square error (MMSE) principle and has found ever-increasing applications in communications. The paper develops adaptive filtering based on an alternative minimum bit error rate (MBER) criterion for communication applications.

Asynchronous Chirp Slope Keying for Underwater Acoustic Communication
We propose an asynchronous acoustic chirp slope keying to map short bit sequences on single or multiple bands without preamble or error correction coding on the physical layer.

Bit error rate analysis of MISO FSO systems
AbstractMultiple-input single-output (MISO) systems are employed in free space optical (FSO) links to mitigate the degrading effects of atmospheric turbulence. In this paper, we consider a MISO FSO system with practical transmitter and receiver configuration that consists of radial laser array with Gaussian beams and a Gaussian receiver aperture ...

Overexpression of CHRDL2 in colon cancer cells makes them more stem‐like and resistant to chemo‐ and radiotherapy. CHRDL2‐high cells have upregulation of the WNT pathway, genes involved in the DNA damage response (DDR) pathway and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT). This leads to quicker repair of damaged DNA and more cell migration.

EMT‐associated bias in the Parsortix® system observed with pancreatic cancer cell lines
The Parsortix® system was tested for CTC enrichment using pancreatic cancer cell lines with different EMT phenotypes. Spike‐in experiments showed lower recovery of mesenchymal‐like cells. This was confirmed with an EMT‐inducible breast cancer cell line.

A Generalized Bit Error Rate Evaluation for Index Modulation Based OFDM System
Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM-IM) is a multicarrier transmission technology that modulates information bits not just onto subcarriers by means of M-ary constellation mapping but also onto selected (active) subcarrier indices ...

A Simplified Model of Bit Error Rate Calculation

The Bit Error Rate (BER) is a key parameter of the Quality of Service (QoS) for engineers and designers of digital communication systems and networks. At the present time, a set of models and methods are exist for calculating the BER. But these methods are complex and require large computing cost.

In this paper, we provide a

Analysis of treatment‐naïve high‐grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGSOC) and control tissues for ERVs, LINE‐1 (L1), inflammation, and immune checkpoints identified five clusters with diverse patient recurrence‐free survivals. An inflammation score was calculated and correlated with retroelement expression, where one novel cluster (Triple‐I) with high ...
