Bit error rate reduction by PSO in indoor wireless communication [PDF]

open access: yes
[[abstract]]In this paper, a new ultra wideband (UWB) circular antenna array (UCAA) combining particle swarm optimizer (PSO) to minimize the bit error rate (BER) is proposed.

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Performance Metrics for Systems with Soft-Decision FEC and Probabilistic Shaping

open access: yes, 2017
High-throughput optical communication systems utilize binary soft-decision forward error correction (SD-FEC) with bit interleaving over the bit channels. The generalized mutual information (GMI) is an achievable information rate (AIR) in such systems and

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Reconstruction of sparse check matrix for LDPC at high bit error rate

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2021
In order to reconstruct the sparse check matrix of LDPC, a new algorithm which could directly reconstruct the LDPC was proposed.Firstly, according to the principle of the traditional reconstruction algorithm, the defects of the traditional algorithm and ...

Determining the optimal decision delay parameter for a linear equalizer

open access: yes, 2005
The achievable bit error rate of a linear equalizer is crucially determined by the choice of a decision delay parameter. This brief paper presents a simple method for the efficient determination of the optimal decision delay parameter that results in the

GTD-based transceivers for decision feedback and bit loading [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We consider new optimization problems for transceivers with DFE receivers and linear precoders, which also use bit loading at the transmitter. First, we consider the MIMO QoS (quality of service) problem, which is to minimize the total transmitted power ...

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.
