OVER-STABILIZED BITUMEN EMULSIONS MADE FROM EMULSIFIERS FOR SLOW-SETTING EMULSIONS

Theory and Building Practice, 2023
Formulations of road over-stabilized cationic bitumen emulsions with orthophosphoric, sulfuric and hydrochloric acids and cationic emulsifiers for slowly disintegrating emulsions have been designed. The physical and mechanical properties of the manufactured over-stabilized bitumen emulsions and their breaking behavior were determined.

Fracture behaviour of bitumen emulsion mortar mixtures

Construction and Building Materials, 2014
Abstract The research objective was to evaluate the fracture behaviour of the bitumen emulsion mortar (BEM) mixtures, in terms of their ductility/brittleness, by considering the fracture work and the deformation energy parameters. The specimens with different bitumen emulsions and contents were subjected to the indirect tensile test after 7, 28, and ...

The factors affecting on Bitumen Emulsion properties

2010 International Conference on Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, 2010
Need to proper roads and highways will increase with increasing automotive industry and development of cities and countries. Among petroleum products used in road construction and asphalt application for soil stability and adhesion between layers of asphalt are bitumen soluble and Bitumen Emulsions.

Preparation And Inversion of Bitumen-Water Emulsions

Technical Meeting / Petroleum Conference of The South Saskatchewan Section, 1995
Abstract The preparation and inversion of relatively large droplet Athabasca Bitumen-in-water emulsions have been examined experimentally, The emulsions were prepared using small quantities of NaOH, followed by cooling to 20 ° C.

[On bitumen emulsions in water].

Acta cientifica venezolana, 2005
The most important factors, controlling the process of emulsification of highly viscous hydrocarbons in water, which are responsible for keeping the stability and other properties of these systems, are discused in this article. The effect of non-ionic surfactants, such as nonil phenol ethoxilated compounds on the interfacial behavior of bitumen/water ...

STORAGE STABILITY OF CATIONIC BITUMEN EMULSIONS

Theory and Building Practice
The compositions of cationic road bitumen emulsions based on special emulsifiers ensuring high storage stability were developed. The variability of storage stability results obtained by different test methods was analyzed, namely: sieving after 7 and 30 days (using 0.14 mm and 0.5 mm sieves) and the settling tendency test on day 7.

The combustion of bitumen-in-water emulsions

Fuel, 1991
Abstract The combustion behaviour of bitumen-in-water emulsions has been investigated using suspended and falling droplet techniques together with some experiments of spray combustion using an air blast atomizer. Single droplet measurements have been made using a commercial soft bitumen-in-water emulsion (Orimulsion) and similar mixtures with varied ...

Comparative Study on Properties of Bitumen Hot Mix and Bitumen Emulsion Mix

Zorig Melong | A Technical Journal of Science, Engineering and Technology, 2015
This study involves the preparation of mix samples of bitumen hot mix and bitumen emulsion mix (cold mix) by adopting the Marshall Method procedure. The method utilizes the evaluation of penetration and softening temperature of bitumen 80/100 grade as a standard.

Characterization of emulsion bitumen stabilized aggregate base

2012
Stabilization of road aggregate using emulsion bitumen is a common alternative when constructing and/or rehabilitating low volume pavements. The engineering behavior of the Emulsion Aggregate Mixture (EAM) is primarily influenced by aggregate gradation, properties of bitumen emulsion, environment temperature, and moisture content. In this study, a well-
