Safety and immunogenicity studies in animal models support clinical development of a bivalent norovirus-like particle vaccine produced in plants

open access: yes, 2022
Noroviruses (NoV) are the leading cause of epidemic acute gastroenteritis in humans worldwide. A safe and effective vaccine that prevents NoV infection or minimizes NoV disease burden is needed, especially for children and the elderly who are ...

Vaccinia Virus Vector Bivalent Norovirus Vaccine

open access: yesViruses
Norovirus is a major etiological agent of nonbacterial gastroenteritis around the world. Due to its in vitro culture complexity, high genome diversity, and the lack of cross-reactive immunity between genogroups, there is an unmet urgent need for polyvalent norovirus vaccines that provide broad-spectrum protection, and no vaccine has gained global ...

Safety of and serological response to a new canine distemper‐parvovirus combination vaccine in domestic ferrets

open access: yesVeterinary Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Pet ferrets are typically vaccinated against distemper using a canine multivalent vaccine despite the lack of relevant safety or efficacy data. Here, we investigate the safety of a novel live canine parvovirus type 2c (CPV‐2c) vaccine strain and the efficacy of the live Onderstepoort canine distemper virus (CDV) vaccine strain used ...

Bivalent Omicron BA.1 vaccine booster increases memory B cell breadth and neutralising antibodies against emerging SARS-CoV-2 variantsResearch in context

open access: yesEBioMedicine
Summary: Background: Current literature informs us that bivalent vaccines will generate a broader serum neutralizing antibody response to multiple SARS-CoV-2 variants, but studies on how this breadth relates to the memory B cell (MBC) and T cell ...
