Kaluza-Klein vacuum multi-black holes in five-dimensions

open access: yes, 2012
We investigate five-dimensional vacuum solutions which represent rotating multi-black holes in asymptotically Kaluza-Klein spacetimes. We show that multi-black holes rotate maximally along extra dimension, and stationary configurations in vacuum are ...

Bias‐Free Highly Efficient and Stable Dye‐Sensitized Photoelectrochemical Cells via Cascade Charge Transfer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A buried‐junction DSPEC design is introduced that leverages cascade charge transfer to enhance efficiency, stability, and versatility. This approach facilitates effective charge transfer and minimizes recombination losses, leading to significant improvements.

Microscopic entropy of AdS3 black holes revisited

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
We revisit the microscopic description of AdS3 black holes in light of recent progress on their higher dimensional analogues. The grand canonical partition function that follows from the AdS3/CFT2 correspondence describes BPS and nearBPS black hole ...

Photoswitchable Conductive Metal–Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A conductive material where the conductivity can be modulated remotely by irradiation with light is presented. It is based on films of conductive metal–organic framework type Cu3(HHTP)2 with embedded photochromic molecules such as azobenzene, diarylethene, spiropyran, and hexaarylbiimidazole in the pores.

Thermodynamic topology of topological charged dilatonic black holes

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
The aim of this paper is to explore the thermodynamic topology of topological charged dilatonic black holes. To achieve this, our study will begin by examining the characteristics of topological charged black holes in dilaton gravity.

Stability of scalarized charged black holes in the Einstein–Maxwell–Scalar theory

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2019
We analyze the stability of scalarized charged black holes in the Einstein–Maxwell–Scalar (EMS) theory with quadratic coupling. These black holes are labelled by the number of $$n=0,1,2,\ldots $$ n=0,1,2,… , where $$n=0$$ n=0 is called the fundamental ...

Rotating Black Hole Thermodynamics with a Particle Probe

open access: yes, 2011
The thermodynamics of Myers-Perry black holes in general dimensions are studied using a particle probe. When undergoing particle absorption, the changes of the entropy and irreducible mass are shown to be dependent on the particle radial momentum.

Black hole thermodynamics [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics D, 2014
The discovery in the early 1970s that black holes radiate as black bodies has radically affected our understanding of general relativity, and offered us some early hints about the nature of quantum gravity. In this paper, will review the discovery of black hole thermodynamics and summarize the many independent ways of obtaining the thermodynamic and ...

Moulting Black Holes [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2012
Abstract We find a family of novel supersymmetric phases of the D1-D5 CFT, which in certain ranges of charges have more entropy than all known ensembles. We also find bulk BPS configurations that exist in the same range of parameters as these phases, and have more entropy than a BMPV black hole; they can be thought of as coming ...
