Black holes and solitons in string theory [PDF]
We review various aspects of classical solutions in string theories. Emphasis is placed on their supersymmetry properties, their special roles in string dualities and microscopic interpretations. Topics include black hole solutions in string theories on tori and N=2 supergravity theories; p-branes; microscopic interpretation of black hole entropy.

d‐Wave Fermi Surface Instability in the Nematic Phase of Two Monolayer FeSe/SrTiO3
Angle‐resolved photoemission spectroscopy reveals a d‐wave nematic order in two‐monolayer FeSe/SrTiO3, showing degenerate dxz/dyz bands at Γ but a pronounced splitting at M. This momentum‐dependent anisotropy identifies the nematicity as a d‐wave Fermi surface (Pomeranchuk) instability, highlighting 2D FeSe as a model platform to explore the interplay ...

Non-supersymmetric black holes with α′ corrections
We study extremal 5- and 4-dimensional black hole solutions of the Heterotic Superstring effective action at first order in α′ with, respectively, 3 and 4 charges of arbitrary signs.

Quantum black holes in Type-IIA String Theory [PDF]
We study black hole solutions of Type-IIA Calabi-Yau compactifications in the presence of perturbative quantum corrections. We define a class of black holes that only exist in the presence of quantum corrections and that, consequently, can be considered as purely quantum black holes.

BURIED ORNAMENTS: EXPLORING FUNERARY BEHAVIOURS IN THE CHALCOLITHIC FROM THE LOWER DANUBE
Summary This article focuses on personal adornments found in Chalcolithic funerary contexts from the Lower Danube. Generally, these artefacts are made from exotic raw materials originating from the Mediterranean sea, particularly Spondylus shells, along with Glycymeris or Antalis shells, and less frequently from local materials.

Atomically precise metal nanoclusters are ultrasmall aggregates of metal atoms with finely tunable structures. They exhibit broad PL across visible to NIR wavelengths by tuning size, structure, and composition. The review addresses fundamental emission mechanisms and structure–property correlations, evaluating enhancement strategies (ligand ...

Black Hole Emission in String Theory and the String Phase of Black Holes [PDF]
String theory properly describes black-hole evaporation. The quantum string emission by Black Holes is computed. The black-hole temperature is the Hawking temperature in the semiclassical quantum field theory (QFT) regime and becomes the intrinsic string

The BRST invariant Lagrangian of the gravitationally interacting U(1)$U(1)$ gauge theory, namely the Quantum GraviElectro Dynamics (QGED). The Yan–Mills theory with the Hilbert–Einstein gravitational Lagrangian, namely the Yang–Mills–Utiyama (YMU) theory, is defined and quantised using the standard procedure. The theory is perturbatively renormalisable,

Maxwell’s equations in the Myers-Perry geometry
We demonstrate separability of the Maxwell’s equations in the Myers-Perry-(A)dS geometry and derive explicit solutions for various polarizations. Application of our construction to the four-dimensional Kerr black hole leads to a new ansatz for the ...
