Association Between Triglyceride‐Glucose Index and in‐Hospital Intensive Care Unit Readmission in Ischemic Stroke Patients: A Retrospective Analysis Based on the MIMIC‐IV Database

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This retrospective cohort study utilized the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care database to investigate the association between the triglyceride–glucose (TyG) index and in‐hospital intensive care unit (ICU) readmission in patients with ischemic stroke (IS). Among 2929 patients, 24.0% experienced ICU readmission.

Magnetic field decay in black widow pulsars [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
We study in this work the evolution of the magnetic field in 'redback-black widow' pulsars. Evolutionary calculations of these 'spider' systems suggest that first the accretion operates in the redback stage, and later the companion star ablates matter ...

Preoperative expectations and 2‐year outcomes after primary anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose A growing emphasis on patient‐centered care, paired with a steady rise in anterior cruciate ligament reconstructions (ACLRs), has led to greater interest in identifying predictors of patient‐reported outcomes (PROs) after ACLR. Patient expectations are one factor previously identified as potentially impacting post‐operative PROs in ...

The Mediating Role of Disengaged Coping in the Relationship Between Adverse Childhood Experiences and Substance Use Among Sexual Minority Adults

open access: yesResearch in Nursing &Health, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are strongly linked to negative long‐term health outcomes. Sexual minority (SM) individuals face disproportionate exposure to ACEs and their consequences compared to heterosexual peers. However, the mechanisms connecting ACEs to these outcomes remain poorly understood.
