SYPHILIS OF BLADDER [PDF]

open access: greenJournal of the American Medical Association, 1917
Syphilitic disease of the bladder has been considered a rare affection. In the older textbooks it is sometimes not mentioned at all or it is dismissed briefly or its existence is even denied. In the most recent works the disease is considered so rare as to merit only the briefest mention. Within the past sixteen years, however, a considerable number of

The bladder or not the bladder that is the question! [PDF]

open access: yesBMJ Case Reports, 2014
We present a case of a 44-year-old woman who underwent a percutaneous patent foramen ovale (PFO) repair. The procedure was complicated by a retroperitoneal bleeding secondary to accidental puncture of the right iliac artery. Combined exome and transcriptome sequencing of non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer: associations between genomic changes, expression subtypes, and clinical outcomes

open access: yesGenome Medicine, 2022
Background Three-quarters of bladder cancer patients present with early-stage disease (non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer, NMIBC, UICC TNM stages Ta, T1 and Tis); however, most next-generation sequencing studies to date have concentrated on later-stage ...

Bladder necrosis: ‘A man without a bladder’ [PDF]

open access: yesBMJ Case Reports, 2018
Since the use of antibiotics, bladder necrosis has become a rare condition. We report a case of bladder necrosis in a 90-year-old man following urinary retention. After insertion of a transurethral catheter (TUC), 2 L of urine was evacuated. In the following days, the TUC became intermittently blocked.

Properties of non-coding mutation hotspots as urinary biomarkers for bladder cancer detection

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Mutations at specific hotspots in non-coding regions of ADGRG6, PLEKHS1, WDR74, TBC1D12 and LEPROTL1 frequently occur in bladder cancer (BC). These mutations could function as biomarkers for the non-invasive detection of BC but this remains largely ...

Oncolytic and immunotherapeutic CG0070 adenovirus for high-risk bacillus calmette-guerin unresponsive bladder cancer

open access: yesAnnals of Urologic Oncology, 2021
Introduction To evaluate the response of patients with high-risk bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG)–unresponsive non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) who we treated with intravesical CG0070, a conditionally replicating granulocyte macrophage colony ...
