Health monitoring and prognostics of blades and disks with blade tip sensors
2000 IEEE Aerospace Conference. Proceedings (Cat. No.00TH8484), 2002Blade tip sensors embedded in the engine case have been used for decades to measure blade tip clearance and blade vibration. Many sensing technologies have been used: capacitive, inductive, optical, microwave, infrared, eddy-current, pressure and acoustic. This paper outlines the technology of blade and disk health monitoring with such sensors.

Parametric Dynamics of Mistuned Bladed Disk
Volume 7B: Structures and Dynamics, 2014The mistuning of bladed disk comes from manufacturing tolerances and in-service wear and tear. Consequently the cyclic symmetry has been destroyed by mistuning, even small mistuning levels could result in drastic changes in the dynamics of bladed disks.

Design Optimization of Bladed Disk Roots
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1987<div class="htmlview paragraph">A procedure for obtaining the optimum disk serration and blade root geometry is presented. The procedure uses the -finite element method, a suitable objective function and a standard mathematical programming technique as its basis.

Mode Localization in a Grouped Bladed Disk
Volume 4: Manufacturing Materials and Metallurgy; Ceramics; Structures and Dynamics; Controls, Diagnostics and Instrumentation; Education, 2000The effect of local blade crack on the mode localization in a rotating turbo disk with a group-blade assembly was studied. Periodically coupled Euler-Bernoulli beams were used to approximate the grouped and shrouded turbo blades. The cracked blade, regardedas a local disorder, was modeled using a two-span beam.
